Erm, ILE? D'oh!

AP, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

It has wrecked my life and I blame DG. Hence being mean to him constantly. Now he hates me and I am sad.

mark s, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

ile is a spring of fresh water amongst a sea of floating camel turds

Geoff, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

It has made me lose my computer, my girlfriend, and probably my job. Great stuff!

Paul Strange, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Correction: it made your girlfriend move into your house to get access to your computer. It's not like I take the computer to bed or anything...

Classic, DG, utterly classic.

masonic boom, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Oooh! More flattery, and I didn't even start the thread this time.

DG, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

I have adjusted. I still dream, though. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

What? Me, proofread? Pheff.

David Raposa, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

I lik e this forum . Long may it last.

Mike Hanle y, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

james e l, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

I admire anywhere i can play intelluctual pissing contests at 3 AM. In fact i prefer it to ILM . I think i may be in the top 20.

anthony, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Top 20? Bwah hah hah! Fight it out with me and Mark for Top 3!

masonic boom, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Fix me up some nice cute [insert preferred gender type here], Kate, and the coveted next-to-top spot's yours...

mark s, Monday, 9 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Mark, I had the second to top spot for weeks. But then I went and had a life for a weekend, and stopped posting. Rest assured it won't happen again. ;-)

masonic boom, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Well within hbe top five for me. But once I've climbed the Tom and DG summit I fear those top four will remain way out of reach. Its just nice to watch the boards stats overtake the raft of photography boards at around 10000 posts.

Pete, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

FIND ME A LIFE AND YOU SHALL DEFEAT ME!! (This is like Goethe's Faust, or the Happy Prince, or perhaps just something lame...)

mark s, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

The day I figure out what a life is, then you shall have one, too. The last time I tried, it involved standing in a field with 42,000 people in the fucking RAIN listening to my boyfriend whinge about how much he fucking hates Radiohead and him listening to me whinge about how much I fucking hate all my ligger friends.

So be careful what you wish for...

masonic boom, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Yeah, lives are over-rated. Look at Pac-Man - he had three and they were all a wee bit repetative after a while. (Wacca-wacca, munch munch, gobble gobble - chase ghosts.)

Pete, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Paul believes that Pac Man is the perfect metaphor for life.

What's pathetic is, you're all sitting in offices, using this to escape the boredom of your jobs. I'm sitting at home, using this to escape the boredom of my fucking LIFE.

masonic boom, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

At least Pacman's life had a neat bleepy soundtrack which got remixed by Aphex Twin. Don't see that happening to mine. Although quite glad my life will not be analysed by Stuart Maconie going, "Ha ha ha, what were its creators on?! We all loved it at the time but it was actually really rubbish, what were we all on?" on national tv.

I nearly had a life once. Seemed a somewhat overrated experience (probably just wasn't doing it right, mind) but at least it involved more alcohol and less getting up before noon than whatever I currently have.

rebecca, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

At least Pacman's life had a neat bleepy soundtrack which got remixed by Aphex Twin.

This is but one reason why Pac-Man is one of my heroes. (The others are Q-Bert [because his name starts with Q and he moved diagonally] and Dig Dug [because his theme music only plays when he walks, making him the true Pimp Daddy of videogame characters].)

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Sadly, I don't rate on the stats page at all.

Sterling Clover, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Can I just point out that it's possible to have a full life AND the top spot on the stats page at the same time? How do I fit it all in? I DO NOT SLEEP. Bwahahaha. You shall never beat me.

Ally, Tuesday, 10 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Yeah, go ahead and taunt us, Ally. Maybe I will write a program that posts to ILE for me just to overtake yr ass.

Josh, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Yeah, like that could happen. My Prince-like prolificness will simply short circut your program and the world will be mine.

Ally, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Hmph. Maybe I will just have to hire someone to break your computer.

Josh, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Going about this the wrong way, Josh. Just convince her that the more time she spends on the computer, the less time she could be ogling Derek Jeter. Or something.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

That's it, I shall arrange for Derek Jeter to live across the street from her and conveniently forget to close his blinds, ever. Then I shall buy Ally a telescope.

Josh, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Yeah, that's all very easy when you're 20. I didn't sleep at all, the entire year between 21 and 22. Look where THAT got me. The young and their boasts don't bother me, because I know that EVERYONE will eventually get old. And I will laugh. Hah hah hah.

masonic boom, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

You only get old if you don't die. I plan on dying.

As for Mr. Jeter, none of you seem to have realized that I live in the BACK OF THE BUILDING! I cannot see any of my neighbors as I face a big brick wall and a courtyard. I am unstoppable. Except for when Ramon and Otis are around, then I am rather viciously stoppable and do things like fall down stairwells instead of post online. Or if I'm hanging out with my coworkers.

Actually, I'm really stoppable, you people are just lazy.

Ally, Wednesday, 11 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

one year passes...

In endless time, in endless ILx.

A Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 24 April 2003 10:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

Why did tihs thread come back up? To remind me how horrible my life was once upon a time, so I should quit whinging?

kate, Thursday, 24 April 2003 10:40 (twenty-one years ago) link

Is this "diggin' the vaults" day?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 24 April 2003 10:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

Hey, Pinefox - at least Jel is still posting pointlessly to work his way up the Statscock!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 24 April 2003 11:03 (twenty-one years ago) link
