realy confusing that film. especialy that part when - o wait.

aight. especially that part when the yuong ronin visualizes the duel with kitano and he wins and then the duel starts and he loses. i didnt get that at all. why he lost. so afterwards i asked my friend who was with me what that was all about. turns out that i blinked when ktiano changed the grip on his sword. which soemhow helped him win. waht kind of editing is that, to let the showdowns crucial point vanish in the wrinkles of attention like that. its not fair. bad film. i liked brother better.

I liked it very much. I liked all the percussion-y music. I liked the flash backs and visualisations that added very much to the film.

My problem (another spoiler) was how come at the big dance sequence at the end all the bad guys and the little kids and so forth were dancing, but the ronin and his wife were not there. It would have been nice to see them smiling.

Oh and another spoiler.

My Dad reckoned that when he opened his eyes at the end it showed that in fact he was not blind all along. But I thought that was a double bluff and actually he was blind, witness his comment right at the end, some thing like "even with my eyes wide open I can't see a thing" Dad thought that was a comment on how most people go through life. So who is right?

that was the whole point of it surely. he made the subtle changed that the ronin (and you) missed. i.e. if you had been in a swordfight with him you'd have got your head chopped off too!

ken c its that kind of thikning that leads to the shity editing that has been ruining prety much every american action scene since err dunno private ryan?
