"Mena Suvari, described by Newsweek as ''the thinking man's sex kitten,''"
I thought she was the middle-aged suburban man's sex kitten, not necessarily 'thinking.'

Who is the Thinking Man's Sex Kitten?

three months pass...
Two additions based on holiday TV viewing:

Carole Bouqet (in For Your Eyes Only and That Obscure Object of Desire - oh god).

Donna Reed (in It's a Wonderful Life, truly the ideal American woman - my eyes well up whenever she's onsreen in it).

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Sunday, 28 November 2004 10:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Donna Reed! You have thoroughly surprised me. (Not in a bad way, I'm just surprised!)

Carole Bouqet = oh heck yes. For Your Eyes Only was the first Bond film I ever saw; in combination with the Chanel ads I was content.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 28 November 2004 15:58 (twenty-one years ago)

ah, my sibel edmonds link still works. how nice!

g--ff (gcannon), Sunday, 28 November 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Donna Reed! You have thoroughly surprised me.

I guess it's because I've done so much thinking about It's a Wonderful Life (and of course much thinking has been done about it by film theorists). The movie is really the ultimate illustration of what's to be gained by buying into culture and the pleasures of accepting your fate. Mary is the ultimate "prize" and the way I feel when I'm watching her is exactly what I feel when I think about the serious women in my life and what it would have been like to settle down (what it may yet be like - or even what it "hopefully" will be like) in my own Bedford Falls.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Sunday, 28 November 2004 19:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Nice way of looking at both the film and yer past! (I have those 'what it would have been like' moments many a time...)

This said, now I'm imagining Peter Saville charging down a street calling out "Merry Christmas Bedford Falls! Wilson ya wanker you never paid me for that one 1989-era design!"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 28 November 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

five years pass...

Bummer about the broken links, huh.
