She's the opposite of the blonde right-wing bimbos.

Huge respect for Katrina. She lives in my neighborhood (I've spotted her buyin' ice coffee at the News Bar on University Place a few times). She's also, as noted, rather easy on the eyes.

Another privelaged and opinionated bigmouth. Wasn't her grandfather Jules fucking Stein? Way to triumph over adversity, Katrina.

O'Reilly made her look totally foolish.

I've just googled this lass - she's nothing special. But maybe still images don't do her justice.

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 30 July 2004 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep trying to rescramble the letters ROWR to spell REALLY OLD, but I'm having trouble. Stupid anagrams ...

Hey, maybe it's an acronymn!

hrm.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't like the tone of her editorials for the nation.

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Katha Pollitt better, despite that weird post-divorce period where she went a little psycho.

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

did you read her i'm-obsessed-with-my-ex piece?

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Bill O'Reilly : privileged and opinionated bigmouth?

x-post, nabisco : yeah, what was up with that stalking shit? I must say I was disappointed with her.

Kerry (dymaxia), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i would've hated to be KP's editor while she was going through the divorce and its aftermath.

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:58 (twenty-one years ago)

whoa, I didn't know O'Reilly went to Marist!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 30 July 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

she is incredibly annoying as a tv pundit. seems constantly put-upon

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 30 July 2004 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

and posting pictures of silver spoon heirs to a rum-running fortune and (cough) John Kerry, the least charismatic presidential candidate since your friend Al Gore, proves what exactly, cinniblount?

roger adultery (roger adultery), Friday, 30 July 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I didn't see any stalking stuff -- just that handwringing "learning to drive" essay. She kept getting all "I Will Survive" about it, then descending into ultra-transparent teenage diary territory, and the whole thing was just heartbreaking. I almost wrote her a letter, like, girl, I feel for you, but you're clearly not over it, it's embarrassing. Sit at home in your sweatpants eating Haagen-Daas for a while, go through a weird slutty phase, give it a year or two before you go slathering the Times with long boring articles about how you're an independent woman and you're SO OVER HIM, do you hear me Mr. Man, you ruined my life but I am so totally over you (call me, we need to talk).

nabiscothingy, Friday, 30 July 2004 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Roger, the point is clearly that having money does not make an individual's opinions worthless. Probably particularly in the case of a magazine publisher, one with a relatively sizeable readership of non-heiresses who largely agree with those opinions.

Although I suppose the thread topic revolves around whether or not she's k-rowr, in which case I'd make the bold assertion that having lots of money doesn't necessarily make a person less k-rowr, either. Anyway that's what Ari Onassis told me, one magical night long ago on a yacht looking over the sparkling coast of Monaco.

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 30 July 2004 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh god, I can't even finish reading that. Does anyone else get the feeling she just needed a friend to talk to, instead of spilling her relationship guts to, you know, America?

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 30 July 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

she has a teenage daughter, too (i believe), who might find all this a bit embarrassing.

amateur!st (amateurist), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:00 (twenty-one years ago)

whoa, I didn't know O'Reilly went to Marist!

I found out recently that O'Reilly was a drinking buddy of my mother's college boyfriends.
