Upper Inner Thigh Chaffing

Um . . .

I have some chaffing in my upper thigh, just below my valuables. It bloody hurts, and walking is difficult and excruitingly painful. I presume it's from some badly fitted boxers I've got (now thrown out) - but that doesn't help me now.

I am ushering at a wedding tomorrow, which obviously involves standing up and walking. What do people suggest to get rid of nasty chaffing, or at least make it bearable so I don't let my mate down tomorrow?

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:34 (twenty-one years ago)

talcum powder, plenty of it.

I get this a lot and it's annoying.

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I seem to get it whenever the wather's hot. Is it just bad boxers, wrong trousers, huge balls - what?

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Long-distance cyclists/runners etc smear the relevant parts with vaseline - maybe not ideal for wedding outfit though.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Talcum powder, it is the answer to everything.

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:40 (twenty-one years ago)

(Though if it is actually raw, you might want to try corn starch instead - talcum powder on broken skin causes some degenerative brain disease or something...)

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Problem is too tight trousers for your upper thighs, basically. I used to get it a lot until I lost all that weight. Talc helps immensely.

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

It isn't to do with bad boxers or huge balls sadly. Is it possible to wear tightly fitting boxers that come down further than the top of your thighs? (you know like c@lvin Kleins or summit)

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Right, so it's a pair of c@lvins and lots of talc? Gotcha.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Before the wedding duct tape it and smoke some meth puddles - you wont feel shit homie

LC, Friday, 30 July 2004 07:44 (twenty-one years ago)

You might not need the talc if the boxers are ok.

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, talc is magic for this sort of thing. The Gold Bond 'medicated' talc is great, but might be a little extreme - and keep it away from your package - it tingles a little too much...

Hey LC am I crazy or did you just return from a long ILX hiatus? Welcome back.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:14 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe some kind of cream that kills fungus? like for foot rot (crotch rot - -ugh)? if you get the stuff with cortozone you MIGHT get some immediate relief.

i say this from experience although mine obv is from ENORMOUS balls.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey thanks Rob I took a little break before the ILX shutdown and came back yesterday, which is perfect timing because I have three deadlines and MOVING DAY in less than 48 hours. Genius!

LC, Friday, 30 July 2004 08:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Hows this: I have to move out on Sunday but I can't move into my new place till the fourth so I'm borrowing a big truck, putting all my shit in there, parking it in the underground parking of my new place and living with my friend out of a bag for three days. As for the move, I don't even have any boxes yet and I've packed nothing. At the new place I'll be paying $1105 for a one-bedroom bcz the one I had lined up fell through cuz the landlord cancelled on me four days ago because I was technically too young for the building (by 1.5 months) - truth: she obv. thought I was a drug dealer and panicked last minute. Yeah!

LC, Friday, 30 July 2004 08:45 (twenty-one years ago)

You're in good ol' Van city, right? Jesus I had no idea it was getting so damn expensive there (haha I should talk living in fucking London)

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Sudocreme

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Whipped cream

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Sudocreme

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:58 (twenty-one years ago)

get aqueous cream from the pharmacy .its cheap. sudocreme is good but its greasy.

thesplooge (thesplooge), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Some kind of anti-septic cream. And don't scratch. I had an allergic reaction to the tops of a pair of stockings once, I sratched the inflamed skin without really thinking about it and I still have the scar.

Anna (Anna), Friday, 30 July 2004 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh that sounds hot actually. Can I scratch it? It's for my turntablism class I swear.

LC, Friday, 30 July 2004 09:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah Rob I'm in Van. I owe Imperial Parking Co. over $400 and most of my friends are drug addicts.

LC, Friday, 30 July 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Try zinc oxide cream. Evans sell comfort shorts for this type of problem.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 30 July 2004 09:33 (twenty-one years ago)

LADIES: Big balls or small balls?

Steve.n. (sjkirk), Friday, 30 July 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

that so deserves a thread in itself.

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 30 July 2004 09:58 (twenty-one years ago)

aloe, straight from the plant.
Then let your thighs breathe.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Canesten Hydrocortisone is very good for sweat rashes.

Dave B (daveb), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I sent one of my compadres down to Tesc0 at lunch for some Sudocream and talc, and whaddya know . . . it seems to have done the job. I havn't put any talc on, but I can feel the cream working it's magic - and it certainly doesn't kill anymore when I go wandering. Good work mooro!

But yes, Ladies: Big or Small?

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Hydrocortisone is good for any kind of irritation! Although you shouldn't use it on a regular basis.

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Professional chefs get ball rash quite frequently, but don't need to spend money on talc as they can just sit in the flour bin to achieve the same result.

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

that'd be funny if it wasn't true

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I get this in summer as I have big sweaty thighs and balls. Wear shorts. Talc lots. Walk like a cowboy.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

put some crisco on your thighs.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

wtf is Crisco? I only know of it from calvin putting it in his hair for his school photo.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

white, putty-like form of vegetable oil, essential to much of the cooking I grew up with.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

So it's gheye lard.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 30 July 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)
