Me: (Answers with a figure $10K above her current salary)
Interviewer: Hmm.. we could probably go higher than that.

CONGRATS, MANDEE!!!!

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

It's almost the weekend, I'm finishing up a big work project that I've been procrastinating but once I finish I'll hardly have any work on my desk, good bands playing in Wicker Park tomorrow and Oneida at Empty Bottle tomorrow night, I updated my resume and cover letter last night and applied for two jobs (making me feel better about my current lame job), and we've got friends coming in from out of town this weekend.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I am happy because for the first time all week I will not be spending my evening in an empty library.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

it's Pride week in montreal and tons of friends are coming in from all over. the weather is going to be nice. work is pretty much done for this week.

as well as the usual, health, friends, most of my hair still attached to my head etc

Anthony (Plato Guy), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Nicely done, Mandee! :-) I admit I wish I could ask for something similar here. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

It's the weekend and I can wear normal clothes. Also, Spidey 2's on at the cinema and I might treat myself to that and a pizza. I might even socialise too.

R.I.M.A. (Barima), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:24 (twenty-one years ago)

HOLY SHIT DO I WANT SOME PIZZA. I am going to make Sarah eat pizza for dinner with me whether she wants to or NOT.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

EAT IT, WOMAN EAT IT!

PS congrats, Mandee.

R.I.M.A. (Barima), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, THIS is why I'm experiencing momentary happiness:

http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0804/

Leading this group of granite warriors is 'General Traag' -- basically the same as all the others, but at least he had a name. He's also the only rock creature to have his own action figure, which was appropriately blunt and heavy enough to break through a plate glass window. I speak from experience, unless I'm just lying. Either way, I threw it at my dog once, who responded by literally barking out 'roo raffe ree rah ronrussion!' It died soon after, I got a hamster the following week.

R.I.M.A. (Barima), Friday, 30 July 2004 19:54 (twenty-one years ago)

because...

*puts on polyester evening gown and glittering high heels*

*dons wig and fake eyelashes*

*dabs mouth with ultima II mauve lipstick*

thank god it's FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!

Maneating Leopards of India (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 30 July 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

well let's not congratulate me just yet - i havent gotten a job offer!

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Friday, 30 July 2004 20:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Friday, 30 July 2004 20:14 (twenty-one years ago)

still good to have a nice interview (btw, pics of your friday get-up are crucial). No word on my job yet, either.

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 30 July 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

It's Shame Week in my apt., which means I get to spend all weekend reading comic books and watching cartoons, eating zoodles out of the can.

Huck, Friday, 30 July 2004 20:27 (twenty-one years ago)

my gf is coming home on sunday after a fortnight abroad!

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 30 July 2004 20:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Lukas (lukas), Friday, 30 July 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Lukas (lukas), Friday, 30 July 2004 21:47 (twenty-one years ago)

it's my birthday tomorrow, and i was going to just sit around home with a friend over but my other friends remembered and invited me out (so they're all coming over now) :)

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 31 July 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I made Japanese style hamburger today, I forgot the egg and the meat completely fell apart because it wasn't sticky enough, so then I made a taco.

I am happy because of some new yoga stretch I did that specifically is suppose to make me more happy.

A Nairn (moretap), Saturday, 31 July 2004 05:07 (twenty-one years ago)

fuck that; im not happy. i asked two girls out today with a 100% rejection rate. tomorrow ill ask another girl out, and -if im lucky--ill get rejected thrice this week, motherfucker. girls, i dont even want to have sex? no, you see, the paxil makes me indifferent to my animal tendencies... you see this is love i pursue! i do no drugs.

dddddd, Saturday, 31 July 2004 07:12 (twenty-one years ago)

You should try Effexor. I've been beating off like a 14 year old boy I've been so horny. I'm just staying away from girls as I'm afraid of what might happen to them if they got near my robocock.

Bryan (Bryan), Saturday, 31 July 2004 08:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure if I'm happy or not.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 31 July 2004 09:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I was happy until I read Bryan's post. Now I'm worried.

Huck, Saturday, 31 July 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i was even happier and now i'm not happy at all.

m. (mitchlnw), Saturday, 31 July 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

My bank balance went into the black for the first time in five years yesterday, getting there...congratulations to all with reasons to be happy, commiserations to the others.

Matt (Matt), Saturday, 31 July 2004 23:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I got my first 'laughs out loud' the other day. I'm very easily pleased.

Listening to the new Velvets deluxe 'Live at Max's,' drinking beer.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Sunday, 1 August 2004 08:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Because I've been moved back into the sales room. I hated the cupboard that I'd been confined to for the last few months. There are too many people in this room, but at least they're all friendly and stuff.

Because I'm still loving my new house, especially the garden. The novelty just hasn't worn off yet. Some days I have breakfast out in the garden - BECAUSE I CAN!!!

Because I'm appreciating my friends a lot more. Even when they piss me off, well, they're still my friends and I love 'em.

Because despite the horrendous outgoings of the past month, what with moving and everything, I still came out with a net savings of £150. Yay for budgets!

Because the singer for my new band is so professional that she finished all her vocal takes in under two hours, in such perfect pitch and time that I might be able to have symphonic stereo layers of doubling, la la lovely.

This is a good thread, I should do this every morning, and I will feel happier.

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Monday, 2 August 2004 06:57 (twenty-one years ago)

three months pass...
Netflix received movies I had sent back, and will mail out their replacements, the day before I need to cancel my account -- which gives me an odd satisfaction, like canceling while movies were in transit to them would have left loose ends.

Tep (ktepi), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm happy cause it's Thanksgiving week and lots of fun stuff is afoot!

STUFFING TENDERHOOKS IN CATS? (xpost)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

ditto! things are looking pretty good right up to the end of the year.. in fact this year really does own last year, for me.

2004 owns 2003 so much when people live in 2003 they'd have to pay through their roofs cos 2004 would have built so many hotels on it.

xpost

ken c (ken c), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I am waiting so patiently for 2005. The next six weeks promise to be some of the slowest and most painful in my life, though will result in a great next year. Quiet Expectation, I guess.

3underscore (___), Monday, 22 November 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

1. Back from fun weekend Wisconsin mini-tour.
2. Only 3 days of work this week.
3. Boss is out of office for all 3 of those days.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 22 November 2004 20:00 (twenty-one years ago)

The Great Wall of China is the largest man-made structure on Earth and is visible from everywhere on Earth, so yes I did see the Great Wall of China and I can see it now out the window.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 22 November 2004 20:03 (twenty-one years ago)

duh.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 22 November 2004 20:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm happy enough, finally sorted out my CD's...I have way too much rubbish!

Reasons I'm happy.
1. Charlotte in NYC is EIGHT MONTHS OLD TODAY!
2. New stuff available at www.maliciousdamage.co.uk

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 22 November 2004 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Why I'm happy: 1) No school on Thursday and Friday. 2) My dear old dad is sending me some things by mail, and it should be there when I get home.

Nowell (Nowell), Monday, 22 November 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm happy because:

1.  I'm not at school right now (yay flooding!)
2.  I'm safe at home after getting through some rather rough traffic.
3.  I'm going to be setting up in my bedroom right now instead of going to class, so it will look more bedroom-y again.
4.  I get to take a nap while I wait for a relative to come on over to help me with moving around furniture.

Ooh, sleep.... *zzzzzzzzzz*

Drama Queen Wannabe (Dee the Lurker), Monday, 22 November 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

well done, mitch!

a happy poem, to celebrate with:

'For My Daughter' by Weldon Kees

Looking into my daughter’s eyes I read
Beneath the innocence of morning flesh
Concealed, hintings of death she does not heed.
Coldest of winds have blown this hair, and mesh
Of seaweed snarled these miniatures of hands;
The night’s slow poison, tolerant and bland,
Has moved her blood. Parched years that I have seen
That may be hers appear: foul, lingering
Death in certain war, the slim legs green.
Or, fed on hate, she relishes the sting
Of others’ agony; perhaps the cruel
Bride of a syphilitic or a fool.
These speculations sour in the sun.
I have no daughter. I desire none.

cºzen (Cozen), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I've always disliked that poem.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 1 December 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)
