best zine since Answer Me!?

I have alll three but haven't splurged on the book yet - anybody check it out? Has anyone sent anything in? Wifey and I did, for issue #4 - hope they use it!

Do you think that over time, people will get too hip to this and start sending in fake stuff and / or being a lot more careful with their trash? You know, ruin it? Like what happened to Ali G in the UK?

The book is amazing. Some repeated stuff, but mostly new material that is incredible. I don't think Found will ever register on the cultural radar significantly enough to spark the sort of phenomenon. I have sent stuff in for #4 too! Some good gems that I had collected over the last 10 years...

I too love Found. There have been a couple of times that I've found something and planned to send it in, but lost it again before I did. I've been contemplating sending in an old photo of my grandpa in blackface in a school play. That's cheating I guess since I didn't find it on the street.

What happened to Ali G in the UK? You mean they caught on to his act?

Yep, Found rulz. I was thinking about sending them the copy of Wind & Wuthering by Genesis I found in the alley today. Maybe it's still there...

Love the angry broken hearted letters that teenagers write to each other and then, apparently, throw on the ground. The random party flyers.

Did you see the stuff from the collapse of the WTC. Chilling.

Never seen it in print, but it's one of my favourite places on the web EVAH.

Especially:

...which is heartbreaking, and:

"I have a stick!"...and:

...which is probably the face of god, and best of all:

I saw "This American Life" do a live show in Chicago, and the founder (ha) Davy Rothbart read his favorite found items. The thing that made it amazing was how excited and amazed he became while telling the crowd stories of pieces that he'd thought of a million times.

one year passes...
I just "found" this in a bookshop in Richmond. What a great idea? Dirty Found is hysterical. Fun for ages.

the last go-round of the found roadshow was bad. readings from his book of short stories and acoustic jamz from his brother. just sayin.

two years pass...

I found these in a red photo album marked "Darlene" at a swap meet in Huntington Beach, California. I didn't know these photos were in there until I got in the car and really looked at the photos. Then I was like, "Whoa! People doing drugs."
