Let's see how this baby holds up.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 04:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Seems there's a 'time slipping' problem happening.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 04:50 (twenty-one years ago)

hey andrew, thanks for all the hard work and stuff.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 2 August 2004 04:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i liked the one where i was moderator

purple patch (electricsound), Monday, 2 August 2004 04:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahaha.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 04:58 (twenty-one years ago)

hello!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 2 August 2004 04:59 (twenty-one years ago)

All that crazyass shit... gone forever.. like tears in rain...

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:06 (twenty-one years ago)

And I missed it!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:07 (twenty-one years ago)

A right shame.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:08 (twenty-one years ago)

feels pretty good andrew, thxxx

g--ff (gcannon), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:08 (twenty-one years ago)

You guys probably just talked about me the whole time.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:14 (twenty-one years ago)

No, but Ned was being mentaller than Calum and JonW fighting in a large pillowcase. And that was surely something.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:15 (twenty-one years ago)

No one happened to save any of it? Damn, I missed it too.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It's been nuked server-side. Sorry.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I really wanted to Excelsior some of the stuff people came up with, but I wasnt sure how kosher that was. I mean free reign only comes when people feel truly like they're getting away with something.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow I feel like I was just part of some kind of ephemera-art.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:22 (twenty-one years ago)

xx-post
oh no that's ok. I thought maybe Ned or whoever might've right-click saved some of their handywork.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

No, but Ned was being mentaller than Calum and JonW fighting in a large pillowcase. And that was surely something.

It was a chance to let my id go completely insane, and for a good purpose! I thank you all. Besides, now you will have images of Ernie and Bert and their meatiness for the rest of your life (the fact that the majority of the testing was witnessed and aimed at Australians tickles me greatly).

I thought maybe Ned or whoever might've right-click saved some of their handywork.

Nope, it was strictly of the moment.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, Andrew, help the happy geeks here and give us a rundown of the full technical specs of the new server.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep! Sorry! I'd forgotten. The specs:

Dual Xeon 2.4Ghz (with HyperThreading)
1024mb PC2100 DDR ECC RAM
2x 80gb IDE hard drives (in RAID1, ie redundant mirrors)

...in a 1u rackmount case. It's running Gentoo Linux, on a 2.4 series kernel. It's pretty fucking fast.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Very nice. What's the upstream/downstream capacity of the link via Keypoint?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Phat.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:45 (twenty-one years ago)

It's got a 100mbit connection to a switch in Eftel/Datafast/Keypoint's (yes, a three-way merger) server space in the stock exchange centre, which is connected to a switch upstairs that has connectivity to the greater internet via MCI and Commindico, and to various Australian ISPs via the VIX and Pipe Networks.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Dope.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Most nice. :-) And now everyone knows where all the donation money went! Hurrah for Andrew!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahah Comindico hahaha!

(Sorry... thats my old CEO's company. He's not a bad sort really)

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:51 (twenty-one years ago)

We use the MCI link a lot more, I think.

Andrew (enneff), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Would make sense. Comindico's probably for back channeling or redundancy.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks. No POXY FULE so far ;P

dean? (deangulberry), Monday, 2 August 2004 05:57 (twenty-one years ago)

some people might not be aware of this new server, as ilx.wh3rd.net is constantly displaying Poxy Fule.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 2 August 2004 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, that might explain my problem in jumping to threads from extant links. Maybe we need to do something about that - one big SQL update perhaps?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 2 August 2004 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

redirect the wh3rd urls to the p3r versions as well

Typhoon is Coming!!! :O (ex machina), Monday, 2 August 2004 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Is there something going on that I don't know about that would have anything to do with the fact that nobody is posting jack shit right now, nor have they been all afternoon (it's afternoon here)? Are you guys all over on some cool other board posting cool things unbeknownst to me?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 2 August 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

nickalicious: try going to the old url

Typhoon is Coming!!! :O (ex machina), Monday, 2 August 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't been posting because www.ilxor.com was displaying poxy fule message.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 2 August 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

We are all alone in the spaceship, and we're just sorta twiddling our thums.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 2 August 2004 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

thumbs!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 2 August 2004 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

We are creating A NEW ORDER. Or something.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 19:02 (twenty-one years ago)

hmmm, I just guess we wait til Andrew's about (thanks for all the hard work btw dude)

I guess if we bump into people online we could tell them that we're at http://ilx.p3r.net/ now.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 2 August 2004 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Can't Andrew just make the ilx.wh3rd.net and ilxor.com URLs redirect people here again? They were doing that last night...

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 2 August 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the pink and yellow logo thingie.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 2 August 2004 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

That's always been there on Mozilla!

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I've only got it now.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Should someone e-mail Andrew about the wh3rd.net problem, just in case he doesn't notice it himself? I had to go through Two Weeks to find my way here, and I'm sure not everyone will find the nu-ILX.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:12 (twenty-one years ago)

He'll likely be on AIM sometime in a few more hours as well.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:13 (twenty-one years ago)

In any event, I just sent him a mail.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I had to go through Two Weeks to find my way here

Yes, that was my doing, I posted the link over there.
According to Mandee, that board will disappear soon though, and not everyone will think to check TWX anyway.
So we better get Andrew on this redirecting thing.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks Aaron, I never would've remembered the new address without your Two Weeks post. That place should've already been destroyed, by the way, Mandee said it had a one month trial run, and it started July the 1st.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 2 August 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

"pthreer" wait what?

:|, Monday, 2 August 2004 21:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Aaron, thanks.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 2 August 2004 21:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Hello, I'm here via my history file from test server last night. How handy.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 2 August 2004 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

What pink and yellow logo?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Jeff W (zebedee), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

pink and yellow logo, in the bit where you type internet addresses. Gots it my old school netscape.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have it any more, but I'm using my PC not my laptop.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)
