Vicky would like you to come and drink with her at the Princess Louise this Saturday to help her celebrate/drown her sorrows. This pub is on Holborn, right near Holborn station. It'd be right nice to see you.

Porkpie (porkpie), Monday, 2 August 2004 10:48 (twenty-one years ago)

It would be a pleasure, and indeed will be if we're in London Village next weekend (which is not a cert. yet). Hurrah for Mrs Vicky.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 2 August 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

you can all stare in wonder, and say 30?! Surely not....

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:00 (twenty-one years ago)

30? My goodness! We can't trust you any more!

I will do my best to drop by and wish you a happy one.

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

30? not even kidding, i never would have guessed!

i might come along for a drink, but there's some kind of 'roof party' in my diary already, and don't know when that is.

hope it's a lovely day, supposed to be great weather this weekend, always nice to add to birthday fun

colette (a2lette), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Can't make it sadly due to being a few hunderd miles away in Edinburgh. Happy thing in advance, you're older than me lalala.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

on Saturday i will be able to say 'but you don't look a day over 29' and it will be really funny. yes.

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

the old ones are the best.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

when i read 7th august it sounded like a long time away - but it's this saturday! doesn't time fly? i'd love to be there.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Abebe Bikila, Mata Hari, Kristin Hersh, David Duchovny, Alexei Sayle - I can't guarantee they'll all turn up but this Aug-7er will.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah! For some reason I thought you wouldn't be able to make it, but we can have a joint birthday FAP!

David duchovny? I never realised.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think I can come to this :( Sadly its a close friend's birthday as well that day and I will be in big trouble if I don't go along to her thing. Have a fantastic day anyway.

Half the people I know seem to have birthdays in August...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 2 August 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

cold weathers of november -> staying indoors with a fire and a bottle of wine -> bonking a plenty

ken c (ken c), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

my parents had the added incentive of organised power cuts....

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, I do have another faux-birthday thing to go to (not for me, for two people whose birthdays aren't even 7/8), Vicky, but I'm man enough for both.

IMDB reveals that we also share our special day with Charlize Theron, Kevin Muscat*, Sarah Cawood, Melanie Sykes, Ramon Estevez, Brian Conley, Rodney Crowell, Nick Ross, Caetano Veloso, Garrison Keillor, Sue Lloyd, Stan Freberg, Kenneth Kendall, Nicholas Rey...

(* - only IMDB entry: "Himself", The Planman [2003], presumably the scene where Robbie Coltrane's character attends a football match).

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

What time? Will it be early doors?

(I know where this pub is, I went past it on the bus once.)

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

from about 7pm.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

are we going to the beer festival beforehand?

Porkpie (porkpie), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

not sure, could do.... but then I'd be more likely to arrive late for my own FAP which would be very rude. Also, all day drinking - see sat. just gone...

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw a voucher somewhere for a free pint of London Pride.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be there, of course - and this is a good thing (no, really) because it will put hitting 30 in some sort of perspective.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:56 (twenty-one years ago)

It'll be a good thing anyway, Mr S dude.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 2 August 2004 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

bouncy bouncy bounce

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 5 August 2004 08:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I am ganning to the beer festival, but then my housemate is having her 30th Birthday celebrations in snny blackheath. A pre-proper birthday thing at beer fest would be good for me.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 5 August 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

bump

I was feeling quite miserable up til today about the big milestone, but now I'm really looking forward to it, and seeing lots of friendly faces tomorrow night.

I'm also looking forward to a cracking thunderstorm, as so far I've managed to miss them all. I'm probably the only person hoping that they've got the weather forecast for central london tomorrow evening right!

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 6 August 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw, it'll be fun! Are you beer festivalling? I still would like to go, but I've been saying this for the past three YEARS and never got round to it, so perhaps I'm destined never to sample the yummy hopped stuff in Olympia chiz.

Sarah blah blah, Friday, 6 August 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm torn - I'd like to go, but it'll be packed, and my sister's coming down (your favourite person starry ;0) ) but won't be getting to mine til late. Do we risk leaving the keys in the handing basket so they can let themselves in?

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 6 August 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm afraid we can't make this due to dinner party commitments :-( but i hope you have a fantastic evening.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't make this, for obvious reasons, but I hope you have a lubberly time on your 24th b/day!! ;-)

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I can make this, and will.

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Vicky: cake?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

quick Vicky, say yes ;o)

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Please let there be cake

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

You kids. What kind?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

GINGAH!

ginner cake!, Friday, 6 August 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

VAGINGAH!

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Muffin?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

yellow card, mark

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, it wasn't very funny. What happens if I get another yellow card?

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

we start calling you Julian

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

"start"

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

oooh, cake, yes please! As to what kind, don't mind, so long as it doesn't have nuts in it, and I'm not in a fruity cake mood either.

I'm getting a serious case of friday-afternoonitus.

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

It'll soon be over. Is it the DAY today or do you really turn old tomorrow? If today you deserve to be let out early to stroll around with an ice pop in the sunshine.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 6 August 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I really turn old tomorrow. If it was today I'd have done no work whatsover. Oh, hold on...

Vicky (Vicky), Friday, 6 August 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I apologise for not making it. I thought I'd be able to, but given that I haven't managed to get into work all week, perhaps I shouldn't have been optimistic. (Depression again.) Anyway, I hope everyone has/had a fantastic time.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 7 August 2004 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks, Vicky, and other FAPpers...

Against all odds, I had a really good time. I thought I was going to be depressed and unable to even hold a conversation, but I had fun times discussing guitar pedals and poetry readings and Extreme Archeology, and for a few hours, I forgot all about my grief. Thank you, Pete, MarkH, Stefano (sp?) and Will especially, and thanks to everyone else there.

Martin, I'm sorry that you couldn't make it. All I can say is, I know what it's like to be dealing with crushing mental pain, and I know that you are strong, and I hope that you can come through this.

Super-Masonic Black Hole (kate), Monday, 9 August 2004 07:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry you couldn't make it Martin, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks to everyone who came, you helped me have the best birthday ever! I had a fantastic time, special thanks in particular to Lix, for a lucious cake, it was divine!

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 9 August 2004 08:07 (twenty-one years ago)

somewhat belatedly, here is a picture taken at Vicky's birthday fap:

MarkH (MarkH), Saturday, 21 August 2004 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

It reminds me a bit of 'Shaun of the Dead'.
