I suffered through the 14-hour flight...shit lasted FOREVER but I had Fancey, Stern, the 9/11 commission and Pinback to see me through. Tomorrow morning I'm going to a shrine in Roppongi before going into the office to talk about the budget. Please advise.

Vore/Boredoms are playing soon in Tokyo, if you're interested.

1. If you can't sleep, watch Asahi TV and see if you can find the talk show where they all drink beer and yell at each other. When I arrived in Tokyo I turned this on and saw a drag queen shooting dried peas out of his/her nose into the audience (and into one of the audience members' handbag).
2. If you are up at 5 in the morning, put some plastic bags over your shoes and go to the Tsukiji fish market, just for the sheer spectacle of seeing many people go insane over buying large-ass tuna.
3. Find the Vice office, and ask for Momus. Tell him "We know what you're up to," turn on your heel and leave.
4. Order as many things as possible out of the street vending machines, including hot coffee cans, drinks with mysterious names like Pocari Sweat and Qoo, and beer.
5. Learn how to say "excuse me": "sumi masen", pronounced more like "sih-moo SAYYYYYN" when you properly rush/slur the words. It's an all-purpose way to get people's attention, apologize for running into them, or greet them when they're coming into your convenience store.

6. Walk behind Sean and let him deal with everything, then eat his food and take his money.

Tsukiji fish market and the surrounding street stalls/sushi places, then saunter over towards Ginza to gawp at the brutal majesty of the Nakagin Capsule Tower.

XP - Ghibli Museum is really great, it's a 35 min train ride west out of Tokyo. Walk from the station instead of taking the bus to the Museum and you get to see what the West Tokyo suburbs look like. Oh, you have to have your museum tickets sorted in advance iirc.
