Ok, well I can get laid pretty easily when I put my mind to it, I'm still young and good looking. But I can imagine being older, etc., and if a particularly cute boy crossed my path, and the arrangement was for cash, I can imagine doing it. I was just talking about this last night. The idea sounds fine to me. There is a buyer, a seller, a transaction involved. Some grunting. But in reality I think I would chicken out, wif this PERSON actually standing in front of me. Like Spacey in American Beauty like OH my god no way could I do this to you. Which is condescending in itself but there you go. I have a friend who lived in the Dominican Republic for 2 years, and EVERY guy she knew down there went to brothels. Like walkin the dog.

*bows* People, friends, Romans, countrymen -- taking the question in as completely serious a way as possible, as well as its corollaries: I don't like the idea of seeking out sex in exchange for something, or paying somebody something for sex. I'm not trying to pretend that doesn't exist; neither am I interested (at least right now) in discussing the emotional minefield that presumes some sort of barter equivalence inside a relationship, in large part because that's not how I see the world, for better or for worse. But again, I'm not trying to pretend *that* can't exist either.

This subject came up with another ILE'er I've been corresponding with... Chances are, paying for sex means paying for sex with someone you don't know or don't necessarily trust. And as far as boy/girl exchanges go in that regard, it's a quasi-violent situation... at least to me. I have to feel trust and some sort of mutual feeling on wanting to surprise each other with pleasures unknown in order for the experience to be worth it for both of us. Otherwise, no no no... not me.

Not to say one can't have all of the above, of course.

I don't think I would take money for sex, (for a start people would not pay me) but not on any moral grounds. I would damn well expect to get some pleasure out of the transaction which is payment enough I suppose. Taking money for sex is better than sleeping with people just to shut them up. Would I pay someone? Themen I know who have been involved in the sex industry are really foul, or vehemently gay. So probably not. The idea of casual sex with a stranger appeals more than sex with an acquaintance if only because I would not have to see them again. It would be difficult for me to trust someone I vaguely knew.
