*ahem* i posted this on ILF but don't think anyone will respond so here goes...

so i saw this film last night, and i thought it was wonderful, a beautiful moving and sad love story. cant wait until its out on dvd so i can get it. dont know anything about chris doyle but it looked stunning, and i loved the ever so slightly cheesy cleaning fantasy, mainly cos thats totally my fantasy too!

so what about pen-ak ratanaraung? what else has he done? I wanted to see monrak transistor but missed it when it came out. Is that worth trying to track down?

any more love for this film?

I liked it a lot, although strictly speaking I fell asleep in the middle. Pen-Ek has done about four films, none of which are at all widely available. It's interesting how much Doyle features in the marketing. He's best-known for his work with Wong Kar-Wai, but also did 'The Quiet American' and Van Sant's 'Psycho'.

'Chungking Express' yeah. 1994. It *was* on vid/dvd but pub'd by ICA and therefore not widely available.
