Banjo really disorients me. I've been playing stringed instruments where the strings play notes consistently higher or lower depending on which direction you go, this whole half-string thing really throws me through a loop.

I found it wasn't as easy to improvise on! As in, playing with chord shapes beyond the basics.

But I also wasn't patient enough to try too many established tunings besides whichever standard one I started with. I need to dive back in myself.
