...that I will be THIRTY-FIVE soon (8-28), and therefore will have to have a party, obv. There will be booze. More details as they occur. That is all :)

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:24 (twenty-one years ago)

WHAT?!

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:27 (twenty-one years ago)

You're 27 if you're a day!

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:28 (twenty-one years ago)

12. 67. 1435234 and a half. Pick an age!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris, you're sweet, but the AWFUL TRUTH must be revealed

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:29 (twenty-one years ago)

When you're 35 that means you're given the freedom of all bars in Seattle and they have to give you booze on demand, yes?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Your idea is intriguing, and I wish to subscibe to your newsletter (though the title Modern Drunkard is taken :))

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Imbiber of the Demon Drink, then.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Quite. I must also amend my previous invitation to include the Portland crew and any ILXors in the area at that time :)

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Must be something in the water in Seattle. I'm gonna be 30 tomorrow. I have made no plans to have a party though. Perhaps there will be some kind of last minute get together this weekend. Kingfish will even be in town.

D, what do you want for your birthday besides booze?

martin m. (mushrush), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I will almost certainly not be available for the party but we'll see.

Casuistry (Chris P), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I cannot attend any of these nativity celebrations alas. But I will definitely be in Seattle the weekend of December 17th for the annual Squirrels Xmas show, which I invite all Seattle folk to attend with me!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

dunno. The pleasure of your company (awwww). Maybe the Wilco book, which is not yet out. Lots of intangibles. Booze is fine

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

B-sides, I just got this awesome Flying Luttenbachers t-shirt at Easy Street. It's PINK! Best early b-day pressie ever

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I am still debating whether or not to buy myself a b-day present I shouldn't really afford (though it's not anything terribly extravagant.) It is geeky guitar gear though, so I will not elaborate for fear of boring others.

martin m. (mushrush), Tuesday, 3 August 2004 21:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey! A band that I'm in is playing in Seattle on the 26th. So maybe I'll see you NEAR your birfday?

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 18:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i might have moved out there by this early, but you never know.

am always up for drinking and events when i get to yell at the band on stage. ("whatsamatta! can't stay on rhythm with ANY of your SIX bass-strings!?")

Lt. Kingfish Del Pickles (Kingfish), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost that is a good idea! where in Seattle are you playing?
Kingfish, didja make the Big Decision re: moving? sweet

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

not sure yet. depends where i get the job. IF i get a job.

Lt. Kingfish Del Pickles (Kingfish), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

that's what this trip is for, really. figure out where i wanna go.

Lt. Kingfish Del Pickles (Kingfish), Wednesday, 4 August 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

The Hideaway. No idea where that is. With Minmae, who you saw in solo form when Ned was here!

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 5 August 2004 01:07 (twenty-one years ago)

the hideaway is half of what used to be the sit & spin, on 4th

ron (ron), Thursday, 5 August 2004 23:20 (twenty-one years ago)

the first time i turned twenty seven was pretty much at the Comet - the bartender (Jason Finn) brought me one of those cakes with the candles that ya can't blow out. I smashed it on the floor. very gen X, in retrospect.

two years pass...

hi! gonna be in seattle this week. already have some good recs on sightseeing-type stuff but what're some good restaurants (ideally near the downtown area)?

GAY HIPSTER BATMAN ON HIS WAY TO A CIRCUIT PARTY (donna rouge), Monday, 3 December 2012 00:09 (thirteen years ago)

Taste (at the art museum) - good happy hour specials
Collins Pub (next to the Smith Tower)
Beecher's cheese in Pike Place Market and that bao place about a block south of it
I'm partial to Doc Watson's oyster bar (also in the market, near the Soapbox)
Salumi (Tuesday - Friday only, 11 until 3ish)

Jaq, Monday, 3 December 2012 00:29 (thirteen years ago)

thai curry simple - lunch place in chinatown

bertrim hapaz (anky), Monday, 3 December 2012 00:34 (thirteen years ago)

the pink door, fancier italian, near the market

bertrim hapaz (anky), Monday, 3 December 2012 00:36 (thirteen years ago)

Sitka and Spruce, just up the hill from downtown.

kate78, Monday, 3 December 2012 04:19 (thirteen years ago)

i love the pink door.

estela, Monday, 3 December 2012 08:06 (thirteen years ago)

Taste (at the art museum) - good happy hour specials

ate there this afternoon w a friend. very good, some reservations. pork belly w winter veg = okay. sweet but bland. salmon w lentils & greens = good, but salty. would go again. jaq's recommendations on point, esp salumi.
