I live almost directly inbetween the paths of these two.

Friend of mine was chatting with me a bit ago saying he had to nail the boards up on his house. Hope everyone's all right who's near it!

I'll be spending the next few nights with one of my patients at a shelter (she has severe dementia, and the shelter won't accept her without a caregiver), the next few mornings driving carefully back to my house, and the next few days huddling nervously in my house.

i feel for the dude. bouncing around in hurricane uncertainty is generally more trouble than the actual storm. nb i am in no way trying to make light of the devastation and suffering caused by both extreme weather and the inept response of bumbling, corrupt government agencies but the fearmongering/ass-covering that goes down whenever there's a storm in the gulf is fucking nuts, especially post-k.

that said i'ma feel real stupid if isaac does real damage. i figure i'm looking at a couple days of power outage at worst. also my future mother-in-law is in town (her flight was on wednesday) so it's ~~TRIAL BY FIRE~~

I am not complaining about the day off we got in Miami-Dade County thanks to Isaac.

Wow. I never thought it would be so much harder to NOT be there for a hurricane. Wishing I was in a position to throw a first class hurricane party right now. I've got to settle for https://www.facebook.com/DramaticHurricaneIsaacUpdates
