i really enjoyed the most miserably intense bit of it earlier because i was in bed with my laptop warming me watching leveson and with no need to leave the house, but even from this cosy perspective the sheer unstopping relentlessness of it becomes depressing

I hated the most miserably intense bit because I was out walking in it.

I got stuck in a spring rain at lunch, with blocks to go. My hair is well and truly fucked for the rest of the day, I think.

When we first moved in here - in fact the day Neil Young was on TV playing in Hyde Park - we had the most fucking awful downpour that caused the trough on top of the bay window to fill with water and pour into the living room. We spent the evening with towels and buckets trying to mop up the stuff before it got in the electrics. We've had it fixed since obv. but every time it's rained since I've been really terribly anxious. This week hasn't been great.

We nearly went to that NY gig - after seeing Springsteen bring the place down the night before. If we had, we've come back to the worst mess I can imagine. I'm even still anxious about Neil Young's music.

Fucking April. Though. That was August. Fucking rain.

it's nice here also and the chief sign of spring -- not weather but green leaves everywhere on the trees -- came in two weeks back “like a lion” (as all the rural saying-hedz er say)

I have a tree in my garden and when it starts flowering the bees form a drone orchestra, that's the sound of summer for me. Also there is a chocolate mining bees nest somewhere underground where my garden meets the brick wall. They are very chilled bees but I can't take my bins out with only my socks on because I have had my feet stung by them more than a few times. I don't take it personally though.

Indeed they just stopped play right before the second batter in the bottom of the 1st and sent the grounds crew out to shore up the infield with sand (?) for a passing shower

there appears to be a Caribbean food festival, some pride event and the main drag in Hammersmith is closed for a market of some description and the forecast is miserable pissy rain

upstairs hasn't been cleaning the gutters, they filled up this morning which resulted in my bedroom ceiling dripping.

Raining all day and I got soaked multiple times because I'm a genius and left my jacket at home (umbrella only covers so much when there's this much water). Of course now I'm back home it's stopped.

I'm excited for NYC to get 5 inches of rainfall in 3 hours or whatever insane prediction is hitting us today!

There will of course be widespread flooding and subways may be disrupted so good luck to everyone who needs to go home from work.
