Has anybody here ever been hypnotised? What do you make of all that, anyway?

...new...answers...

It works it works it works. That's all you need to know. But like most things in life, it only really works if the hypnotisee implicitly trusts the hynotiser.

Never happened to my knowledge. Then again, I could be waiting for someone to say the code word that will cause me to climb a tree in my underwear and squawk, "Mr. SMITH!"

We used to 'hypnotise' each other in the girls' toilets at primary school and pretended it worked so as not to look foolish.

What?!

Ally C, Monday, 12 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

We did that, too, Madchen. Only not in toilets.

Has anyone ever done that thing where one of you sits in a chair and six people press on the chair-sitters head, and then lift up the person and the chair each only using one finger?

Is that hynotism?

Hypnosis to give up smoking has worked 2/3 times. As in, twice managed not to smoke for over a year and once it was utter failure and lit up next day. Anyone else had any cig-nosis that worked? And if so can I have their number? Cheers.

Is that pressing down thing real? I know lots of people who have mates who have done it, but no-one who has actually done it.

I've done it, and for all intents and purposes it does seem to work.

I did it as a kid, but can't remember how now.

Brown cow.

one year passes...
Still an interesting subject btw.

Never been hypnotised but heard recently of a Paul McKenna show where he managed to get a compulsive hair eater to stop by telling her it tasted of her worst imaginable food (avocado)

I'd like to be hypnotised to be able to sleep through Kevs snoring.

Does hynotherapy really work?
