Yeah, I'm in a long-term monogamous relationship. Of course I wouldn't have unprotected anal sex with someone I was seeing casually. In any case, I don't think anal sex IS something you have with someone you're seeing casually, you have to build up a lot of trust and intimacy first. As for whether it hurts my girlfriend, I'd say it does a bit, but not a lot, and in a good way - ie, she comes more easily from that than from vaginal sex. I practically only have to touch her clitoris and that's it. Usually we start with her on top too so she's in control of how deep the penetration is etc.

That's true, but I don't think I would ever be secure enough to do that - there would still be the nagging doubt and fear of disease. Sure, HIV and other STDs might not be a factor if both people are definitely disease-free and monogomous, but other infection is still possible. It's such an incredibly high risk sex act that it seems foolish not to protect yourself even under the best of conditions.
