Joseph Pot (STINKOR™), Saturday, 21 August 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

There's some talk of a Ghost Rider movie w/Cage.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 21 August 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

....looked around, it's more than talk. The guy who directed Daredevil is writing and directing, and Jon Voight's in it too. I reserve the right to mock and scoff, but I guess it could actually be good.

Rock Hardy (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 21 August 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Lame superhero. Skulls should stop being scary once you hit puberty.

while on the subject of "Cool! A skull!" : I saw a guy in leather pants with a black top hat , curly hair and all a la Slash , a real "rocker" , at Tompkins Square Park yesterday painting a skull inside an hourglass. Tool.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Sunday, 22 August 2004 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

my brother once had a pog that depicted a skull with crazy hair, with the legend underneath saying "no drugs".

latebloomer (latebloomer), Sunday, 22 August 2004 17:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Ghost Rider is the ultimate Alex in NYC superhero -- he even honours the fire.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Sunday, 22 August 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Ghostrider's pretty scary, but the coolest demonic comicbook anti-hero of all time is:

http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/graphicnovels/mediumres/nemesis.jpg

http://www.bath.ac.uk/~pypmsa/high/1165h.jpg

Wooden (Wooden), Sunday, 22 August 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

A fight between Ghostrider and Nemesis would be amazing. Nemesis would win.

Wooden (Wooden), Sunday, 22 August 2004 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Blaze. Old skool, buddy.

Yeah, but most of these are Daniel Ketch (Blaze's little brother), dude.

i'm aware of that, but it's hard to find older Ghost Rider pics, honestly.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 25 August 2004 20:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Lame superhero. Skulls should stop being scary once you hit puberty.

It has nothing to with "being scary", it has to do with the inherent coolness of a "superhero" with only a tenuous connection to doing "right," and punishing individuals with hellfire (which, as we all know, is cold to the touch....BUT SEARS THE SOUL!)

Who the hell did you like? Aquaman?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 25 August 2004 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Aquaman was the first metrosexual.

Rock Hardy KNEW, man!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 20:00 (nineteen years ago)

I spoke with a Marvel rep who told me that Sony backed out on making this their big Spring '06 film and they got left with three warehouses full of toys to hang on to.

He also told me that there is a finished Man Thing film that was done in Louisiana right before Katrina hit that's so bad it's never seeing the light of day. And that there's a Cloak and Dagger movie in the works.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 20:57 (nineteen years ago)

wow they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel of their late 70s second-stringers.

Rock Hardy KNEW, man!

I don't even remember where I heard it first. Just judging from the trailer, the movie has to be 100% refried ass.

The Jazz Guide to Penguins on Compact Disc (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 21:24 (nineteen years ago)

actually, i'm trying to figure out how the hell they got a Swamp Thing movie made in 1982, unless they were just going for a retro 50's monster movie vibe(as evidence by that poster).

Not that any of this explains the scene where Swamp Thing heals Adrienne Barbeau's boob with his magic man moss, tho

kingfish doesn't live here anymore (kingfish 2.0), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 21:30 (nineteen years ago)

Count amongst the comics my mom threw away in 1982, Ghost Rider, circa 1979-1980. I had about a dozen. Also, cherished toy: Ghost Rider action figure on bike, worn into bits of plastic.

Fuck Nicolas Cage.

Fluffy Bear (Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 21:38 (nineteen years ago)

well the Swamp Thing movie was made around the time Alan Moore revamped the character and was getting some attention for it, I think...?

I would totally go to a Fin Fang Foom movie. Also a Shogun Warriors movie!!!

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 21:46 (nineteen years ago)

Swamp Thing movie, 1982
Alan Moore writing the comic, started 1984.

Shakey Mo Collier (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 25 May 2006 14:55 (nineteen years ago)

the Man-Thing movie is TERRIBLE - just dull and pointless - and they totally ignores his USP (ie WHOEVER KNOWS THE FEARE WILL BURN AT YE MAN-THING'S TOUCH)
