This couldn't have anything to do with your November seaside holiday, could it, Gareth?

OK then, I'll join in:
--
Bruno Brookes: "What's 'The Riddle' all about?" Nik Kershaw: "It's ... Dadaist." Brookes: "What does that mean?" Kershaw: "Find out for yourselves!" - the Radio 1 teatime show, November 1984.
That's rather how this thread feels: am I the only one reading it? Is it back to the helicopter and straight on towards Woburn Abbey, or something more arcane altogether? Only you can reveal the truth ...

*thinks* I remember Gareth writing about a letter he got at his flat, for no apparent reason, and totally incomprehensible to him, which included a reference to a German nightclub in June 1974 and the line "why do I remember him now?". So do I take it that this is a transcription of the letter?
You are Kenneth Kendall, Gareth: can the clock now be stopped?

Dear Keith, This is the day, it all began. My son Ian and his friend James were there for the day, with James' mum and step dad. There was thunder, and lightning, when they arrived. However, it did eventually clear. Ian had a camera with him. The first picture that he took, should have been the first golfer of the day to tee off. Instead we have a ghost.
Nothing unusual happened again until we were evicted to the flat. In fact nothing began to move before i adopted the Blue Point Siamese cat, from my sister Jackie (TOBIS). He is a neutered Tom. July 1993. Since that time, there has been a catalogue of different things moving in the flat.
2002, The last time, was while I was quite ill, with influenza. I think it may have been the Thursday 14th or Friday 15th of February. I know it was during the nioght, because i couldnt sleep for the fever
On the window sill, in my bedroom there is the head on a marble stand of a Pharoahs Queen. Anyway, the ornament flung itself on the floor with an almighty thud. I did eventually fall asleep. It was daylight when i weakened. The head was back up on the window sill, looking at me. The influenza did frighten me. And the spiritual experience? I'm not sure about that.
Maybe one day, we will meet again Keith, and write a great play. That is perhaps, the only dream i have left.
Edith

Dear Keith,
Stewart was quite happy, to talk to me, about his past. Obviously during the interim, he has met someone else. We will need a much bigger bed than i thought.
On the subject of beds, i have only conceived twice, and both children were to my ex-husband.
