Pinefox!

chris, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Will ILE lose its appeal when I am able to understand posts like this?

Mark C, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

*shrug*

james, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

????

james, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"To be released Summer 1996." *hmmmm*

This couldn't have anything to do with your November seaside holiday, could it, Gareth?

Robin Carmody, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I jingled the keys, and Mozart slightly turned
Elect Engine Hall
House Piano Hall
Key Key Hall
The third and the fourth are not very clear

gareth, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't think even Treasure Hunt had clues this indecipherable ...

Robin Carmody, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

It was a High School reunion
Not half as surprised as i was
You would think, we had discovered a cure for cancer

gareth, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Is that an actual answer to this thread (i.e. a genuine High School reunion) or another clue, Gareth?

OK then, I'll join in:

--

Bruno Brookes: "What's 'The Riddle' all about?" Nik Kershaw: "It's ... Dadaist." Brookes: "What does that mean?" Kershaw: "Find out for yourselves!" - the Radio 1 teatime show, November 1984.

--

That's rather how this thread feels: am I the only one reading it? Is it back to the helicopter and straight on towards Woburn Abbey, or something more arcane altogether? Only you can reveal the truth ...

Robin Carmody, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Surely this means Robin = Anneka Rice?

Pam Pam Nightclub Dusseldorf
June 1974
Why do i remember him now?

gareth, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

STOP THE CLOCK! STOP THE CLOOOOCK!

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You try giving me 24 hours to stage a performance of the 1812 Overture by an amateur orchestra on the Thames beside Tower Bridge complete with firework display, Greenfield. Then you'd think twice ...

*thinks* I remember Gareth writing about a letter he got at his flat, for no apparent reason, and totally incomprehensible to him, which included a reference to a German nightclub in June 1974 and the line "why do I remember him now?". So do I take it that this is a transcription of the letter?

You are Kenneth Kendall, Gareth: can the clock now be stopped?

Robin Carmody, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

So many invisible walks

gareth, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

So is it a compendium of various letters, Gareth, rather than just one in its own right? Or are you just winding me up?

Robin Carmody, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The books I won as prizes, were destroyed in a house fire
A nervous breakdown, has left many gaps in my head
However, I still believe, the best is yet to be written

gareth, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes, I did write a play, and i was the only one who read it

gareth, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 10:10 (twenty-two years ago)

three months pass...
July 10th 1993 Bells Scottish Open
The Kings Course at Gleneagles

Dear Keith, This is the day, it all began. My son Ian and his friend James were there for the day, with James' mum and step dad. There was thunder, and lightning, when they arrived. However, it did eventually clear. Ian had a camera with him. The first picture that he took, should have been the first golfer of the day to tee off. Instead we have a ghost.

Nothing unusual happened again until we were evicted to the flat. In fact nothing began to move before i adopted the Blue Point Siamese cat, from my sister Jackie (TOBIS). He is a neutered Tom. July 1993. Since that time, there has been a catalogue of different things moving in the flat.

2002, The last time, was while I was quite ill, with influenza. I think it may have been the Thursday 14th or Friday 15th of February. I know it was during the nioght, because i couldnt sleep for the fever

On the window sill, in my bedroom there is the head on a marble stand of a Pharoahs Queen. Anyway, the ornament flung itself on the floor with an almighty thud. I did eventually fall asleep. It was daylight when i weakened. The head was back up on the window sill, looking at me. The influenza did frighten me. And the spiritual experience? I'm not sure about that.

Maybe one day, we will meet again Keith, and write a great play. That is perhaps, the only dream i have left.

Friday February 1st 2002

Dear Keith,

Stewart was quite happy, to talk to me, about his past. Obviously during the interim, he has met someone else. We will need a much bigger bed than i thought.

On the subject of beds, i have only conceived twice, and both children were to my ex-husband.

1969 On 17 March the lifeboat 'T.G.B.' ON 962, capsized while on service to the Liberian vessel 'Irene' and her entire crew of eight lost their lives.

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 9 October 2003 21:57 (twenty-two years ago)

are you still getting them?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 10 October 2003 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

no, i moved away from there. i dont know if they are still being sent to that address, or what is happening to them when they get there.

the information in the previous message relates to james swanson, a mechanic on the ship, and one of the eight who died that night

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 10 October 2003 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Right you told me that, I'm sorry. Whomever lives there now should forward them to you? Why don't you write a book about it.

Further googling also reveals the synth player in The The was called Keith Laws.

Anna (Anna), Saturday, 11 October 2003 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Please investigate Gareth. I feel like Nancy Drew.
