Television is the best thing ever!!!!!

Last night I saw Kylie Minogue singing 'Especially for You' with Kermit the Frog! Plus there was a show starring Richard Dean Anderson (but not MacGyver) and he hasn't aged a bit!

What other wonderousness have I been missing with my non-TV-watching lifestyle? Whats the best thing you've ever seen on TV?

o jeepers, sorry! I just saw that there are 76 other TV threads, so if you like just talk about Richard Dean Anderson's remarkable ability to stay young and fresh.

Right now David Blaine is getting frozen in ice, again, because it's a repeat. The Sooty show was brilliant today, the gang sold Sweep for £10 to this woman, he didn't mind going, but the lady ended up being mean to him...so he was upset, and the gang were upset because they missed him...but in the end it was alright, they were reunited and they chucked a pie in the womans face!

I really do need to get a job.

you have been missing La Femme Nikita. its not just TV, its uber-TV.

1st and only trip - geoff is wide awake, 5 in the morning, short film show comes on, black screen...text = what would a fly be doing right now? next image, moving camera, buzzing noise, then fly-like voice over, where's the faeces, where's the faeces....god i love tv...katie currick's colonoscopy was pretty cool too.

Did the woman get her money back as well as the pie = urgent and key to stop Sooty getting big fat legal bill later in the year.

Pete, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yep! They gave her money back!

why was Lenny Kravitz on that David Blaine programme last night? I didn't need his insight - "Yeah, he might freeze to death". What, in a block of ice?

Jonnie, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I thought that too, Kevin Spacey wasn't much better, especially as at the beginning it was lauded as "featuring Kevin Spacey and Lenny Kravitz"

West wing was very good though last night, if a little odd. Has anyone seen the special terrorism one that E4 is showing next week entitled "Isaac and Ishmael"?

chris, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I *have* to watch that late night poker show on Channel 4 - I've heard about it from a few people and it just sounds like the best thing evah. Unfortunately it's on at summat like 5 in the morning and I have to get up at 7:30 for WURK. It sound even bettah than DARTS tho, which as everyone knows is the pinnacle of television um... stuff.

Steve.n., Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Chris, is this the West Wing episode that appeared after 9/11 you're talking about? I saw it the first time around. It was okay. I liked the way they handled the event but it struck me as the writer taking advantage of the show to be preachy.

Samantha, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Samantha, that's the bunny, E4 are showing it next week, apparently it was filmed after 9/11 and is relevant to current affairs, on the trailer they showed nothing of Bartlett though, just Leo interviewing a middle eastern gentleman.

West wing can be a bit preachy though, Bartlett's rant against religion in the cathedral last night was really quite odd. The rest of it was ace though.

chris, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh yeah, that's the season closer. I thought that one was pretty good. Bartlett's hardly in the terrorism one though. Josh gets the most preachy.

Samantha, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Josh is a little uptight isn't he? I'm just gutted that I only got into it for the second series, I missed all the first and catching up is key and vital.

chris, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

In real life Josh is married to the mom on Malcom in the Middle! ha ha. Other real life shockers Donna from That 70's Show lives with oldest son from Malcom. Eh, I watch too much tv.

Samantha, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

nooooooooooooooooo, not lovely Donna, surely she's waiting in her room for me to find her!

and hannah from S Club 7 lives with the girl who played Anthony's girlfriend in The Royal family, and not Jonnie 5 as he keeps claiming.

I once wrote a television screenplay that (in passing) asked the question whether nuclear weapons or television was the most influential invention of the 20th century. According to the characters, television won.

Aimless, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:37 (eighteen years ago)

two years pass...

When does the autumn/fall season of new programmes begin? Is it still a couple fo weeks away for the most part?

Stevolende, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 17:13 (ten years ago)

I haven't seen much in the previews that looks too enticing although in late October Raimi's Ash vs. Evil Dead and The Man In The High Castle are starting + both look decentish, the latter's pilot episode was well done.
