good free e-mail

since i check my e-mail every week i just found out that 4 days ago my mail service shut down. so other then hotmail and other massive services can anyone tell me a good free e-mail service?

I use mailcity all the basic fu\nctions, pretty intutive interface. Good system all around .

Okay, so it's a massive service, but Hotmail isn't so bad - although you do seem to get more spam than with any other service.

Another "massive" service I quite like is BT's www.Talk21.com, not least because you can send free SMS (mobile phone) messages.

hotmail is ok, but they did lose my address for a month! so i had to go and get another one, this was seriously inconvenient

Oh, sorry, I forgot to add my $.02 on this thread... www.another.com is fairly reliable, and it gives you a GRATE selection of stupid email addresses to choose from. However, it's not very customisable in terms of other options.
