dude i practically LIVED on fun-dip when i was a kid. it took all my willpower to avoid eating that tasty chalky stick first.

the flavour combos grape/orange and lime/cherry drove me CRAZY, since cherry and grape were my favourites, but they were in different goddamn packets. it forced me to buy both.

it's amazing i'm alive, really. for so many reasons.

Eating anything that no one over the age of twelve would eat is undeniably CLASSIC.

But then again, I am twee as fuck.

(I discount worms and shit here obv)

Blergh, someone brought these weird candies into work the other day and I couldn't stop eating them. They're called Bullseyes, and they're individually wrapped chewy things with oddly bland but vaguely caramel-tasting brown chewy stuff on the outside and delicious sugary white stuff in the middle that tasted kind of like the cream in the middle of Oreos. They were so gross but I ate so many.

Pixi Stix are AMAZING.

i love all sweets, the more sour the better... haribo's tangfastics are favourites, and was impressed recently by skittles bubblegum from the states. also love any chalky, fizzy candy.

its amazing that i'm not fat.

Yum!! I love wax lips. They lasted for days. And I could take it out and chew it hours later and it was still good. My favorites were the yellow ones.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Thursday, 2 September 2004 07:09 (twenty-one years ago)

after reading "candy freak" you realize how much candy has gone un-noticed & become very difficult to find...
the clark bar
charleston chew
chic-0-stix
necco wafers (esp. the all-chocolate rolls)
Bun
mallo cups
...
basically anything that isn't hershey's, mars/m & m or whatever the third company is.

then there's all these tinier candy companies that still make stuff that i either kinda remember or never had...
b-b-bats
valomilk
u-no bars
hunk
&c.

kelsey (kelstarry), Thursday, 2 September 2004 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Do they have Sugar Babies in Chicago? I never see them at the stores near my work and I miss them.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 2 September 2004 20:26 (twenty-one years ago)

i know one store where you can get them. it's on damen, it's called "suckers candy co."

Butternut bars. Nobody seems to carry them any more, and they were just about my favorites.

Hey Jude, Thursday, 2 September 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

In the UK we call 'fun-dips' 'sherbet dib-dabs', if I remember correctly. And we only get 2 flavours of sherbet, whereas you gat 3! A Mixed Economy really does mean less choice for the consumer...

three years pass...

I ate a "Crazy Dip" last night while unpacking, which is like a Fun Dip, only you dip with a foot-shaped lolly. Into pop rocks.

roxymuzak, Monday, 3 September 2007 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

that's crazy.

I discovered this in Hong Kong and brought back three packets. It is the most painful thing I've ever eaten, and is truly awesome.

Chocolate and Vanilla BB-Bats are ridiculously awesome...I doubt my teeth could handle them now, though. I might go to the gas station tomorrow for fun dip.

My wife eats Nerd Rope (pictured upthread, I believe) and my dad loves Swedish Fish. Both over the age of 12.

Does anyone remember the penis-shaped tube that squirted syrupy red goo out of a small little hole at the top? Those things were obscene. They tasted like the stuff they mix into the soda water for fountain drinks. I think they were actually called 'squeeze pops.'

also, push (up?) pops to thread.

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Tuesday, 4 September 2007 07:03 (eighteen years ago)

I LOVE Nerd Rope (and hate regular nerds, weirdly enough).

Also Sixlets are absolutely gross

While I find Nerds Rope beautiful, I don't much care for the taste or texture.

Really, really love what it looks like, though.

OMGZ I adore Nerds Rope. I wish I could just have a big pile of nerds rope for wedding cake, but the man votes no on proposition that.
