Fox says ‘you’re hired’ to Ivana Trump, who will host reality dating special
NEW YORK (AP) — Another famous Trump is getting a reality TV show. This time, it’s Ivana’s turn.
The ex-model, ex-CEO and ex-wife of real estate mogul Donald Trump will host a two-hour dating reality special — the working title is “Ivana Young Man” — this fall on Fox. Trump will select eight twentysomething bachelors who will compete for the affection of a successful but lonely fortysomething woman.
“For years, rich older men have traded in their wives for pretty young women with bigger ‘attributes,”’ Mike Darnell, executive vice president of specials and alternative programming for Fox, said in a statement Thursday.
“Thanks to women like Ivana Trump, Demi Moore and Cher, the social norms are changing and mature women are finding that true love can happen with younger men.”
The Trumps’ tabloid-frenzy relationship goes something like this: Donald divorced Ivana in 1992, after 12 years of marriage. Following the much-publicized split, Ivana received a hefty sum from the divorce and coined the phrase, “Don’t get mad, get everything.”
On the show, fiftysomething Ivana will serve as a teacher, expert and guide to the “mature” bachelorette, who will narrow the field of eight down to two and eventually to one. According to Fox, the final choice will be made not by Ivana but by the lovelorn socialite.
Casting for “Ivana Young Man” has already begun.
Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” returns for its second season on Sept. 9. He coined the phrase, “You’re fired,”* on the hit NBC reality show.

*Actually, that phrase has been around for a while, thanks, Huck.

NEW YORK (AP) — Britney Spears’s fans don’t think the pop star’s chewed gum is “Toxic” — they’re buying wads of it on EBay.
There are over two dozen auctions of used chewing gum on EBay, each claiming their product has been spit out by the 22-year-old singer. Prices go as high as $14,000 US, but most are for significantly less.
Though there is no way to verify the authenticity of the various wads, many postings include photos of a small piece of chewed gum, a copy of a ticket stub from the place of finding and a personal story of procurement.
Why would someone pay money for a piece of used gum? Psychologist Joyce Brothers is reminded of the prices that people paid for the clothes and possessions of U.S. President John F. Kennedy and actress Katharine Hepburn.
“People want a piece of someone they like and admire,” Brothers said. “It’s like obtaining somebody’s halo.”
