My Fucking Labor Day Eve!

So, I'm sitting here, blaring "Fireworks" by Siouxsie & the Banshees and drinking a truly cringe-inducing St.Peter's English Ale (the only beer we had in the fridge), killing time before going to see La Sioux at the otherwise entirely regrettable BB King Blues Bar. Well, I've actually never been there, but judging on its location (Disneyfied 42nd Street) and the caliber of bands who generally play there (April Wine Reunion Tour Ahoy!!!), I can't imagine its much to write home about. The wife and child are away at my mother-in-law's place in Texas (despite the fact that my wife's British). I'm already droonk, having had nothing more to eat today than an underwhelming tunafish sandwich.

YEAH BABY!

So, that's my story. What's yerz?

And apparently I'm the only one on ILX at the moment.

Today I woke up and cooked some eggs & homefries for Austin, then we picked up her laundry and went to her house. We put together a desk, and she's showering Soon we're going to go to a BBQ and eat delicious delicious things.

Alex, help me build a time machine!

Being that many an individual accuses me of living in the past, I seem like the ideal candidate.

Oh, one good thing: I interviewed Big Paul Ferguson of Killing Joke yesterday. Huzzah for me.

I got up at 7 so I could to work at 8 this morning. Now I am home and have just taken some leftover painkillers. I have to go to work tomorrow, too.

I'm supposed to go out (salsa) dancing tonight, and ideally I'd like to get there in time for the lessons, at 8PM, mostly because I haven't been out for a while and it's a good way to break the ice if I don't see many people I recognize. But I more or less "just" got back from the gym where I was momentarily seeing this weird sort of illusory flashing type thing in my peripheral vision, after I got off the stationary bike. It didn't go away right away, and I just wasn't feeling quite right (though I did complete my work-out). It's hard to know what to do. Going out dancing when I am in a weird mental and physical state can really suck if I don't snap out of it once I get to the club. But sometimes I do snap out of it. The thing is, I don't know exactly what's bothering me, but it definitely feels like something physical (allergies/weather/something I ate/temporary dehydration at the gym?).

Just picked up some great DVDs used (Criteiron's Haxan and the double disc Rules of the Game plus Spirited Away) as well as some blank CDRs. Am going to clean up the place a bit, and in a few hours my coworker Tom and I will go drinking at the Kitsch Bar for the remainder of the night, meeting up with a number of friends there as well as ILX newbie Firstworldman.
