I believe FreakyTrigger is sending a group - sadly after four successive nights on the lash it is unlikely to involve me. I think Carsmile, Tim H and Stevem are on their way though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Add another one to my year-away regrets.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Mind you, the shortlist is a perfect argument for 2003>>2004, but that's for ILM.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

What exactly are Keane doing on that list?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

mr pj wuvs The Keane.

i agree about the 2003 2004 thing. including Sweet Dreams on the list only highlights the, hem hem, problem.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Just reading the daily pop briefing singles reviews..

Good: Brian McFadden
Bad: The Delgados.

There's a reason I don't read that site very often.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm ridiculously excited about this. And all the crazies from the message board are gonna be there! And Evil Ross Truemans will represent! Oh. My.

marianna lcl, Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Last year it was Simon Amstell.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

He's coming again apparently.

marianna lcl, Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Rachel Stevens 'Some Girls' beat off Jamelia's 'Superstar' to win. Simon Amstell was not there afaik but Cheryl and Nicola from GA were, lurking right next to the FT contingent's area all night. Best thing was 'The Show' actually coming on, all of us cheering and only then realising that Cheryl was standing right there beaming at us. Marvellous. Bloody hell the whole thing did drag on a bit though.

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 08:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Good lord I hope Magnus wasn't there ;)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 08:22 (twenty-one years ago)

cos he'd have battered her

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Cheryl touched my leg!

She also smokes Malboro Lights - methinks it's a substitute for food given the size of her waist. Hokey!

marianna lcl, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, the GA voting went like this:

Javine not Jamelia
Sugababes not Will
Busted not McFly
Shaznay not Emma
Girls Aloud (doubles arms in the air from Nicola) not Keane
Rachel Some Girls not Rachel LAX

marianna lcl, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I approve wholeheartedly of the Girls' voting patterns, except Javine over Jamelia which is obviously outrageously biased.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Jamelia is clearly better than Javine. Bah.

Can anyone just turn up to this shindig? It sounds amusing and there will be pretty shiny people there.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it was last night, liz...

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Its a one-off affair, or an annual thing at most.

(xpost)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

so it hasn't already happened?

xxpost

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Booger. I was confused and cannot see a calendar. Next year, baby.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

It's totally a one year thang. Although there will be another Xmas Party this year (last one's RULED! OK!)

marianna lcl, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)

was i there the last time?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

You were. You were also, like, three hours late.

marianna lcl, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:47 (twenty-one years ago)

BUSTED WERE ROBBED

(xpost to marianna lcl)

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

The best song won. The burning question is if Magnus (and I) had been there, would I have helped Cheryl or helped him?

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

SHAZNAY not EMMA?!?!??!!! pah to Girls Aloud. I still can't recall the shaznay song after it was played twice last night. Emma rooooolz.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i should add, that fortunately the good will (of the crowd) will out, and emma went to the final 3, before being cruelly (and inevitably) dumped in favour of Jamelia (and the winner Stevens)

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

SHAZNAY not EMMA?!?!??!!!

Yes, wtf Girls Aloud?

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

girls a. were *actually there* ?!!!

piscesboy, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, PJ give GA more publicity and fanny-licking than ILM does.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Bloody double gin and tonics. Sorry for being an arse atcher Aaaaaaasteve.

Starry (hello chickens), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd love to be back for the X-Mas party. I vaguely remember wanting to go last year, but never considered asking you lot.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Stevem and all others present, full blow-by-blow account of the evening, please - none of this piecemeal rubbish. Bloody wish I'd been there! Didn't even know about it, for shame :-(

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

You're losing your edge to the kids with freaky triggers.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)
