Hollywood prostitute who had liaison with Hugh Grant arrestedRICHMOND, Calif. (AP) — The Hollywood prostitute caught nearly a decade ago in a liaison with British actor Hugh Grant has been arrested for allegedly possessing stolen property.
Estella Marie Thompson, 35, also known as Divine Brown, was arrested last week and released from custody pending an investigation, Richmond police Sgt. Mark Gagan said Tuesday.
He would not provide any information about last Wednesday’s arrest, saying only that it involved an auto dealership in the working-class city northeast of San Francisco. Gagan would not specify what property Thompson allegedly had in her possession.
Her identity was confirmed through fingerprints, he said.
In 1995, Thompson pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of lewd conduct after her arrest with Grant.
Hollywood vice squad officers had arrested the pair as they sat in the actor’s BMW. Grant was followed by officers who saw him pull over to a Sunset Boulevard curb and pick up Thompson.
Grant also pleaded no contest to lewd conduct in a public place.
Grant, who recently starred in the films About a Boy and Love Actually, turns 44 on Thursday. He co-stars in the film sequel Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, scheduled for November release in the United States.
