FILM: Hillbillys in a Haunted House
When a group of country singers seek shelter in a spooky mansion they find themselves caught up in international espionage.

!!!

This starts in a couple of minutes. I wonder if we get the horror channel on ntl digital - I know a friend of my dad's gets it as he keeps phoning my dad and asking if he watched whatever shit film was on, which my dad never has.

Actually I may be confusing it with the Sci-Fi channel, if that exists. This, however, looks great.

FILM: The Giant Gila Monster
A fifty foot reptile attacks a small Texas town in this classic fifties monster movie. As the town is destroyed, only a plucky mechanic can stop the beast.

the posters for these films are probably tons better than the films themselves:

2.00am - FILM: Hard Rock Zombies
When a rock band are brutally murdered by a family of ghouls, a medieval tune resurrects them as zombies ready to exact their revenge in this unique comedy horror.

The mister won't let me look and see if we can watch Hillbillys in a Haunted House. Bah.

Hahah, hold on, I think I recently read a review of that bizarre thing...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 12 September 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Q. Which notorious Vampire Hunter is the subject of a recent Hollywood film?

Is it:

A. Van Morrison

FILM: Nude For Satan
Sleazy Italian classic in which travellers stopping at a castle for help find the inhabitants to be their own evil counterparts.

Bloody Birthday (Tues 7th Sept at 10pm and 4am) is about a trio of 10 year olds who were born during an eclipse of Saturn, the planet which governs emotions. And, as their mutual 10th birthday approaches, they embark upon a bloody killing spree, slaughtering half the local community, just because they feel like it. Bloody Birthday is a gruesome tale that makes a mighty strong case for the after-school club.

Heh...I found that Lisa Loeb movie on the IMDB, here - it's called Serial Killing 4 Dummys (sic) - renamed Serial Killing 101 for the USA DVD release.

On the trivia page, it says: Lisa Loeb, aged 34 in 2002, plays a student half her age - 17.. Elsewhere, it says that the film was actually released in 1999, so she would've been around 31. Still, I think we have a winner. I mean, Judd Nelson was 25 or 26 when he was in The Breakfast Club, and that was pushing it.

Ernest P. (ernestp), Sunday, 12 September 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

the horror channel website's review says the film, 'serial killer', is from 1971. (?!)

cºzen (Cozen), Sunday, 12 September 2004 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw a Nude For Satan trilogy available at Best Buy. I was tempted, but couldn't check out with Nude For Satan and my head held high. Nude for Christ, maybe.

I find it's mostly useful for quoting the write-ups to friends on AIM - I did so with that Hillbillys flick a couple of days ago. I have watched the odd ancient classic (M, Nosferatu and Dr Caligari were on recently) and an occasional Italian erotic horror - I've not seen a good one of these on this channel yet - and when very bored, one or two dreadful formula horror films. I've seen nothing good here that hadn't been on TV lots of times before.

benign the guy who mentioned this in his blog recently, Monday, 13 September 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, I'm off home, but WTF are ya doing here?

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 13 September 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

A winner on tomorrow - I assume it was plotted by writing a hundred random things on bits of paper, the drawing out a few and tying them together:

The Butterfly Affair (Film)
A strip-tease artist and a con man team up in the jungles of Venezuela on a diamond heist.

Doesn't sound much like a horror film, of course.
