Fans do not own celebrities. However, they do own their own mental *images* of them. This is where the crises arise. Please don't get me started on this question, I find it endlessly fascinating. How many people view the fan-celebrity relationship as a one-sided thing, the celebrity creating, the fan consuming, but when you actually talk to fans, the fan creates as much from the silver projecting-screen of the celebrity as the celebrity ever creates in the first place.

Germaine Greer once expressed her desire to keep Leonardo di Caprio in a shed, during a lecture. I was there.
So maybe *celebrities* own celebrities...

The exception being when Celebs RAFFLE THEMSELVES OFF FOR CHARITY. Did you read about that Serbian (? not sure) millionaire who bought out an entire stadium so he could have a one on one audience with his favey singXoR? That was just frightening.

That story was in Metro Sarah. You have been warned. He also gave her a diamond (just one! cheapskate), roses and offered to fly her somewhere strange like Vienna.

I wuv the Metro. But I didn't get one today, despite having a THIRTEEN MINUTE WAIT at Kennington, sheesh, I might as well have just WALKED. The Metro is a great sorse of knowlidge! And the best celebs go in it, as um... Chris T-T could confirm hooray! And they have lots of wuvvly tube tales which make me haf the ear to ear grin.

Celebrities who "do it all for the fans" annoy me cos they often then proceed to do the exact opposite of what I want, apart from WESTLIFE and their ROCK SONG! Woohah!!!
