Which is the better PC substitute for "women"

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 19 September 2004 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Nemos, obviously.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Sunday, 19 September 2004 02:31 (twenty-one years ago)

chix0rs (or chiXoRs??) sounds better.

amateur!!!st (amateurist), Sunday, 19 September 2004 02:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Of course, the proper term is "hott chix0rs".

I heart saying "ChiX0rs" - it makes us sound tough, like some kind of scary dinosaur. Woo!

The 120 Days Of Streatham (kate), Monday, 20 September 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

chiXors, totally!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 September 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

what the heck is a nemo? i've never heard that...i wouldn't want to be called a nemo, but don't mind being called a chixor.

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 September 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Nemo is a word I have made up. It's backslang, like the underclass used to use to confuse the police. Women backwards is Nemow, converted for pronouncability sake into Nemo. It's hip and I don't care what you guys think.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Poontank

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

but the problem with nemo is exactly what pink posted. i'm sick of all the little nemo crap as it is, so wouldn't want people to think of me in terms of little nemo.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

What a clown fish with a gammy arm you mean? ;-)

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i didn't even mind the movie itself, actually.

it's just that since then, there's just so much little nemo merch around that it's a bit annoying to me. and we went to the zoo a couple weeks back and went in the aquarium bit and all the kids only wanted to see 'nemo! look, it's nemo!' when there were plenty of other very cool fish around. dunno, dumb really, but it got on my nerves.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Little Nemo is a fine film. And I've already (in another thread) pointed out that the first thing the word Nemo should be associated with is Captain Nemo from Verne novels - I'm guessing this is what Nemo the Pixar character is named from. Also, I mentioned, Little Nemo The Dream Master, which was a NES game, and Nemo's, a fish and chip shop around the corner from me.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

and Nemo's, a fish and chip shop around the corner from me.

was it named after the film?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a bit much!!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It was named after Captain Nemo, unfortunately. I don't like chips though, so I never patronise the place, but I would be tempted if it was a Finding Nemo themed chipshop.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:21 (twenty-one years ago)

'I'll have double clown fish & chips please. Oh & don't forget the pickled egg!'

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

...Or at least I'm guessing it was named after Captain Nemo. Submarines = fish and chips.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 12:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll vote for ChixOrs, for perhaps obvious reasons.

PS. I took my screen name from "Little Nemo in Slumberland" not the computerized fish movie.

Nemo (JND), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, you really want to vote for chiXors dontcha?! ;-)

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

ChiXors so nice I vote for them twice.

Nemo (JND), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Hackerspeak is so last month. Backspeak is Looc.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Verlan?

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

chiXors. The big "X" makes it look so bad-ass.

Je4nne Ć’ury (Jeanne Fury), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

How about straight-edge porn starlets? "xChiXXXorsx"

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Jeanne is so right with that last post. Mark, that's like 5 X's, I dont even think Jeanne could be that!!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 07:22 (twenty-one years ago)

GILCHRIST! You live in Kentish Town?

Chix0r is better than nemo, btw, but not by a wide margin. What's wrong with 'wymyn' anyway?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

*shudders*

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Ho ho.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Kentish Town? I wish. I live in St. Andrews - and the students are back this week. I went to the pub last night, figuring the end of the Ryder cup decreased the chances of my being annoyed by people cheering putts. Instead it was full of whacky people tied together like a three-legged race, trying to set fire to sambuca in their mouths, squirting lemon in their eyes (wtf?). Ah well.

A kid came up to me and asked me if I was a student - I said 'no' and he wondered off. Then I realised he was by himself and was trying to make friends with me. Poor dear. (This is all off-topic, of course, but I want to whinge, and I don't want to start a thread about it.)

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

"flames"

Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just wondering how many chip-shop owners would be wacky enough to call their places 'Nemo's'. There's one on Kentish Town Road. I mean, the man's a murderous revolutionary! Who happens to like a spot of fish, but still...

Liz :x (Liz :x), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Giant squid, chips and a pickled egg please!
