...and no one cares!

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:39 (twenty-one years ago)

He didn't age well.

Sexual Air Supply (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Nick (Spader): Look at it! We don't even know what the hell that is. It can be just a light or a bomb or...

Danika : Or a sexual object, when you look right down to it, the form of it...

ex-jeremy (x Jeremy), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:41 (twenty-one years ago)

he thanked the mother of his children

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:41 (twenty-one years ago)

meryl streep made a funny

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Friend Stripey will care.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Meryl made a funny?!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Monday, 20 September 2004 01:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Meryl sucked. I'm just glad that Stef won an award.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Monday, 20 September 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I cared, too! I was glad it wasn't James Gandolfini.

I swear, I had to change the channel because the whole of the awards ceremony was becoming incredibly predictable. "Oh, something from Angels in America? It's going to win. Something from 'The Sopranos'? Has a good chance of winning. Something from 'Arrested Development'? Gonna win." I was mildly surprised Cynthia Nixon won and the "In Memoriam" segment didn't disappoint (i.e. it choked me up as it always does), and the "bringing two ordinary, everyday individuals on stage to present an award" was a stroke of effin' genius, but there were very few periods during the awards ceremony where I felt I was watching something that would set it apart from the rest of the awards. Oh wait. It just ended? I just heard it end. That's pretty damn novel -- an awards ceremony that ends pretty much exactly when the schedule says it'd end. Wow.

Oh, and I watched the Creative Arts Awards yesterday just so I could cheer on the Queer Eye guys as "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program. So hush. ;)

(The above was typed at approximately 10:03 p.m., BTW. Was interrupted for a few minutes.)

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Monday, 20 September 2004 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

amateur!!!st (amateurist), Monday, 20 September 2004 02:32 (twenty-one years ago)

(sorry i think i was just possessed by a random googler)

amateur!!!st (amateurist), Monday, 20 September 2004 02:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha, amateur!!!st. Not to worry. I too feel the Spadester has aged really well. Still looks as pretty as ever. (Objectification fun!)

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Monday, 20 September 2004 02:37 (twenty-one years ago)

oh i was responding to:

He didn't age well.

-- Sexual Air Supply

seriously though i think it's almost scary how little he appears to have changed

amateur!!!st (amateurist), Monday, 20 September 2004 02:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I like James Spader a lot, so this is good. I have a friend who thinks James Spader looks like Judge Reinholdt (sp?), which is lunacy. But he genuinely seems to confuse them when describing films, so maybe he's brain damaged.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 03:05 (twenty-one years ago)

arrested development winning as many as it did was a big surprise to me.

kyle (akmonday), Monday, 20 September 2004 05:14 (twenty-one years ago)

"Hi there, Matt LeBlanc!"

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

the segment about frasier's many wins and garry shandling's continuing disappointment really cracked me up

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

There was much that was funny on the show! Highlights:

"Who the hell is Elaine Stritch???"
Conan's dancing
Ellen's valet gag
Gary Shandling in general
THE SWIFT BOAT PARODY OMG

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

"continental skiff boat veterans for veracity"!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:02 (twenty-one years ago)

What did he win an Emmy for?

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

his hair

amateur!!st, Monday, 20 September 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

the practice (dylan mcdermott must be PISSED)

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

dylan mcdermott is gross

jean-luc godard likes the practice you know

amateur!!st, Monday, 20 September 2004 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

The skiff boat thing w/ The Daily Show peeps was fucking KICK ASS. I loved whatever her name was, "Colonial Trollup".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Gary Shandling kinda made me sad.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 20 September 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

The Practice season with James Spader has only just started over in Australia, but i think Spader is excellent on it.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 04:38 (twenty-one years ago)

which three shows was frasier on ? (i saw this on a mid70s 12 inch black and white philco)

anthony, Tuesday, 21 September 2004 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I care hugely. Although this latest award takes him even further from my reach. He's delicious.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

he is good on it, but I don't know if I can take a whole series revolving around him and shatner and that annoying female attorney (which is starting in a few weeks).

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

James Spader looks like a little boy.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I've stopped getting Spader comparisons.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you disappointed or not?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

go james spader, I love you now.

cºzen (Cozen), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 16:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Nick OTM, but SEXY

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Absolutely. The little boy comparisons run a little thin when you think about Crash though (I hope). He is ridiculously tasty.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
OK, I notice both Spad & Shat got nominated for Best Actor in a COMEDY Series by SAG. I've seen a few minutes of Boston Legal now and then and know they do that Vain Blowhard shtick to a T, but is that all?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 5 January 2006 21:07 (nineteen years ago)

i think it's a comedy like how ally mcbeal was a comedy. think more DRAMEDY.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 5 January 2006 21:35 (nineteen years ago)

fifteen years pass...

Kinda hard to believe that the only thread for the Blacklist TV show on ILX is the one where the guy is trying to figure out a song in a fight scene (and that is on ILM).

Spader is very entertaining on the show and sometimes it is a laugh out loud show for me.

I really keep hoping that eventually they will show or insinuate that Spader's Robert California character from the Office was actually just Raymond Reddington, who had wormed his way into Dunder Mifflin/Sabre.

earlnash, Thursday, 17 June 2021 04:27 (four years ago)

I watched a couple episodes, idk if it's supposed to be that hammy and stupid but it definitely made me laugh a few times

frogbs, Thursday, 17 June 2021 16:39 (four years ago)

it's the show that i use as an example of network tv being ludicrous, without having ever actually watched it.

i have been tempted to try it because spader being a ham in a ludicrous show sounds not bad
