All of his decoys.. What are they doing now? Seems like it would be pretty hard finding work these days.

I think they're all applying heavy lip-liner and will soon back-up Zombie Robert Palmer on his SO Addicted to Love That We CAME BACK FROM THE BEYOND Looking For It tour.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

That's just what I heard on Entertainment Tonight, though.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh my god, I LOVE Zombie Robert Palmer!

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 20 September 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

This has given me an idea for an awesome reality show ... it's like The Simple Life 2, starring the Saddam doubles (assuming they can capture them). They should drive around the country in a big van, stopping to chat with locals, herd cattle, and attend line dancing competitions. Of course, they'd have problems trying not to be recognized ... the series would be part "The Fugitive", part "Borat's Guide to the USA".

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't believe in the Saddam doubles. I think they were just Saddam, changing jumpers and standing besides mirrors to confuse people.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost -

Somehow you need to work Baghdad Bob into the show. Just

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:06 (twenty-one years ago)

.. just as a bit part though.

([Submit] - oops.)

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

The Saddam doubles will be installed as the leaders of countrys around world giving them an easy to identify hate figure should the US ever wish to invade.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I bet most of them have shaved. Do you think a memo went out for them to let their beards grow when the boss did? Or did they keep the 'staches for more of a Saddam Classic look?

briania (briania), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost

So instead of comparing unscrupulous leaders to Hitler, they can say they're just like Saddam... just LOOK at 'em.

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I think a bunch of them are now jumping out of airplanes while wearing glowing jumpsuits.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

whatever happened to Saddam?

teh pow! (blueski), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

We got 'im!

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I think just about every male over 25 in Iraq looks like a Saddam double.

pepektheassassin (pepektheassassin), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

haha...yes, but where is and what is he doing right now? i would like Saddam Webcam

teh pow! (blueski), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

that was a xpost

teh pow! (blueski), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

That's actually something I was thinking about, they started that trial thing with high profile and now...what? Then again, didn't they arrest the Chalabi nephew overseeing the case?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

They should do cabaret in Vegas.

Wooden (Wooden), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

x-post Yeah they did, that must make things complicated. Mistrial! They shoudl put Saddam, Chalabi, anyone else, in Camp X-Ray and run that as a Big Brother or Survivor style reality show for Steve's entertainment. If the public votes you off they hand you over to Ms England.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I still like my show better.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, it is better. As long as we can watch and make sure that Saddam isn't doing any evil 24 hours a day I'll be happy.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

That's actually something I was thinking about, they started that trial thing with high profile and now...what? Then again, didn't they arrest the Chalabi nephew overseeing the case?

He hasn't been arrested. He did resign from Saddam's trial, which hasn't really started yet either (and isn't expected to for another year or two).

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Saddam doubles tennis might be entertaining if they made them wear different colored shorts or something.

Michael White (Hereward), Monday, 20 September 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

The Saddam doubles really confuse me. I mean, I sure as hell would know the difference between the Swedish prime minister and a look-a-like. As would everyone with say Tony Blair or G W Bush. How could there be Saddam doubles that could actually pass it off??? Are we really so unfamiliar with the middle eastern look that we think everyone looks the same? And if that's the case, why couldn't some Iraqi person be consulted? I just don't get it.

Hanna (Hanna), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:05 (twenty-one years ago)

The Saddam doubles didn't exist to fool the West, they were to fool the Iraqis. So no, it's not that we are unfamiliar with their "look".

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Ok, even more confusing then, how can they not recognise the most famous face in the whole country?

Hanna (Hanna), Monday, 20 September 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, you know that there's been three Dick Cheneys since 2000...

That's actually something I was thinking about, they started that trial thing with high profile and now...what?

I'll tell you why you haven't seen any more of it. Saddam came across looking like such a BAD MOTHERFUCKER NOT TO BE MESSED WITH that it was probably in the coalition's best interest not to have that footage televised again.
