The idea of the ILE awards is to do something silly and fun and celebratory of what makes ILE good (which includes the self-promotion and the clashes of opinions and egos, I reckon). That's the spirit they were meant in and there's no reason they shouldn't happen in that spirit. When the nominations close I'll e-mail the nominees and they can withdraw from any categories they're in. If things do get any nastier then we can scrap the whole thing and I'll admit it was a mistake.

Yeah but it makes little or no difference if they arent doing it anonymously. I guess people might be shy or whatever so it's nice to have the option. Still there were some anonymous posts about different people posted in a bitter sort of immature way. I can't even remember an example offhand but I'm sure you noticed it anyway. I'm not criticising the idea in general just so you know.
