Balls to Christmas, I want this now!

DG, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I could ask for your romantic success, but then you'd have none in turn. ;-)

Right now all I've asked my own personal Santas aka my parents for are some new clothes and a few DVD sets. Beyond that I let them judge accordingly. ;-)

Andrew L, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I really want a new alarm clock cassette radio to replace the one I inadvertently punched a hole in. But unfortunately they just seem to do CD ones now.

Trevor, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Right on, Andrew L. Ethan can pay for the privilege of meeting ol' Fattie.

DG, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A friend of a friend has got one of those facehuggers. The underside of it is always strangely damp for some reason. I think he must wear it on his face a lot.

I WANT SNOW! And a new watch, please.

Ed, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, you know - a bigger living space, some contentment, a bit of direction ("You just lost your hand in a wood chipper! It hurts like HELL!"), a pinch of self-confidence, someone to help clean out my closets and CD library of all the crap, $$$ for my college tuition for the next couple of years, a new job, happiness for my friends & family (which really should be up at THE BEGINNING, selfish bastid that I naturally am), the ability / desire to cook elborate meals, the freedom / desire to be less stingy and more generous with my time and abilities, and (last, not least) for various peoples in various positions of power in all walks of life to get their hands out of other people's pockets and Do What's Right.

If all that fails, a gift certificate would be nice, too. I'd post a link to my Amazon wish list, but that's just a scheme for them to get demographic info to sell to other folks to spam the living shit out of all of us, so I ain't having that. (Plus my list sux.)

David Raposa, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A Les Paul. That'd be lovely, thanks.

ogden, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Materially, I want a black wool coat, several CDs, books, and a red scarf. (Judging from past Christmases, I may get two books, an ugly piece or set of makeup, and if I'm lucky a CD.) For the holidays, I want to make monkey bread and gingerbread and spice cake, which we surely will do, and I want the entire family to decorate the tree with me, but I do not know how to make them do this. I want to be in my friend's churches St. Lucia concert, which means I have to learn a bunch of songs in Swedish very, very soon (not an unpleasant prospect). I want to go to my grandparents' house like we always do because that's just lovely and festive there but it seems that we may not this year.

I've been getting excited about christmas since, like, september. That's unusually early for me.

Maria, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A dirty dronerock boy.

Actually, no, wait... after last Xmas's experience, scratch that idea.

I would like a Fender Jaguar or a Moog. (If I can't have the DDB, I'll just have the accoutrements.)

Ugly Wife, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh, shit. An electric guitar and a keyboard that makes neat bloopy noises. THAT'S what I want. And a 4-track recorder. And some recording software. (Gosh, I'd love links to some warez sites, except that we all know they're illegal. That wouldn't be right, not @ all.)

David Raposa, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm hoping for: 1. world peace 2. The man I love to come to me. 3. My Mom's Novel to be published! :)

Gale Deslongchamps, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

To meet all of you wonderful West Coast ILE'ers on my West Coast road trip between Dec 21st and New Years... And I will meet up with you guys. Right?

RIGHT?

Brian MacDonald, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

By default, old chum. Or we'll beat you up.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A year's Tussauds Group pass - £70 - unlimited entry to all Tussauds group attractions!

jamesmichaelward, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would like to become clever enough to remain the laziest person in the universe and still impress people with my brilliance, pass exams, get good jobs, etc. Failing that, having my degree without having to do any work would be a good start even if I then return to my current diminutive dual-plank density. Of course on top of that it would be nice if I could also be witty, entertaining, fun, musically talented, thinner and attractive. And able to drive.

I have a feeling none of that's very likely to happen (been hoping for at least 12 years and still nothing...), so instead cds would be nice. A copy of Vulvaland by Mouse on Mars and "Bliss Out" by Simon Reynolds would be lovely. Let's not mention the fact that I've owned Ocean Of Sound and The Sex Revolts for ages and still not read either of them. And frivolous stationery is good too. Mm, shiny colour gel- ink pens. And a wheely mouse. Random expensive musical gear would be nice but not really worth it considering how much it costs and how little I'd use it.

David: IRC network EFnet is ware, uh, where it's at for audio goodies, way nicer than trying to find anything on the web, though if you've never IRCed before perhaps not. More detail might *cough* or might not be forthcoming once I've glared at Visual C++ a bit more. Or there's lots of legal stuff which is supposed to be free at maz-sound.com.

lazyserf, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

All I really want is a couple more plates, because I broke a buch (accidentally at different times) and am too lazy to buy more.

Nicole, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I meant "a bunch" instead of "a buch". Too bad good spelling is something that can't be bought.

Nicole, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I want the World tied up with a fancy Man Bow. And a lifetime supply of sweets and permission to eat them all in one week.

rainy, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

since ogden stole my answer: (A Les Paul. That'd be lovely, thanks), i would like fatnick. :)

lucy lurex, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I would like Geoff to lose badly in the filth thread. Than and anal sex with the barrista .

anthony, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You can have FatNick if you like. As long as you pay postage. I think I'm going to put that fucker on Ebay, I wonder how much I'd get?

DG, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

46 cents

anthony, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That much? It's better than what I was expecting.

DG, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

this is quite funny because I was thinking earlier something like this 'DG is so nice to Fatnick, he always sticks up for him, they seem to have fun together, if only I had a big brother...'

rainy, Thursday, 15 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Helen B-dale, in Xmas stockings. Heh heh heh...

Will, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Menelaus Darcy, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I want to feel better. I've been sick a lot lately.

If none of you can manage that, I'll settle for some swanky pirate loving. Aw yeah, you know what I'm talkin' bout!

Kim, Friday, 16 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I also want a gameboy advance. jel=greedy.

james, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

New karate pajamas, Marimekko tote bag (fuck that, might have to go and get it myself), saké, course of yoga classes or gym membership at venue with steam room and sauna, Supermarket Sweeps of APC, Something, Michiko Koshino and The Pineal Eye, framing for my handwritten Tracey Emin story, Apple AirPort and a digital video camera.

Of these I will probably get the gym one from my mum.

suzy, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

One of these please.

DG, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Brian MacDonald, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've changed my mind! All I really want is a set of double pointed brush/pen markers!

Maria, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oooooh. ArrrRRrrr indeed!

I've thought of something else though - I need a staple gun.

And a waterpik toothbrush.

Kim, Saturday, 17 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I want a big fat woman with thighs like B-52s.
