Right now at work, I am currently...

1) Listening to/Adjusting the running order for my solo album
2) Booking Eurostar tickets to Paris
3) Reading dirty rock boy slash fan fiction
4) COMPILING STATS ON THE MONTHLY SALES!!!

Who can multitask more than me?!??!?

Danger Whore (kate), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I am master of the alt-tab!!! Who can beat me?!??!?

Danger Whore (kate), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Right now, I'm:
fucking around reading ILX.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I am god of Firefox and Ctrl-Tab.

I also I have 3 monitors.

Bow down.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Multiple monitors is cheating. You must list all the tasks you are currently multitasking, and do them ON ONE MONITORY ONLY!!! or else the sys admins in the house would pwn us.

Danger Whore (kate), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Analysing the downlink recording schedule for one channel.
Building the Event Log Database
Watching the cricket score
Backing up religious doggrel

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Right now I am switching between two internet browsers, listening to the radio, chatting to my boss & filing some stuff!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Listening and singing I might add!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Researching a DVD online
Writing an email to a distributor about said DVD
Reading ILX, obv
Chatting to Madchen on MSN
Clarifying which tapes we duplicated to my boss

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

D'oh, I forgot the obvious "surfing ILX" which would bring my multitasking total up to 5.

Danger Whore (kate), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Reading ILE
Setting up a PC for the network
Checking the users home directorys for virus etc
Checking the DHCP server to see how my scopes are doing
Talking about setting up a forum for some indie labels I know with a few people on MSN
Getting the HL2 preload via Steam
Checking out http://www.boardreader.com

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I forgot to add eating a yoghurt.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Ahem, yogurt!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I have ILX, Blogger, email and another message board all open at once - feel the power of my multiprocrastination.

I'm also:

Compiling a mailing list
Phoning up random contacts on said list
Checking newswires
Trying to work out which station on the Tube map contains no letters from the word 'Mackrel' (I know the answer to this, but I've forgotten, and a workmate has just challenged me)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

you bastard, that's going to trouble me and I have no time to do it systemataclly till later.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I am currently ONLY reading ILX. One-track procrastination for me.

Matt, I'm sure there turned out to be more than one, last time I did that mackerel thing. I know the one that everyone uses though.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Double 'you bastard'. Off to the map for me.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

heh I know the answer to that one...

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I have several hundred pop-up windows open asking me if I want to find a date for tonight, legal viagra, diplomas etc. I have no idea how they got there. This propels me into the lead, methinks.

the impossible shortest special path! (the impossible shortest specia), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, I am:

Reading 'Orlando Furioso'
Posting to ILX
Typing radiological reports
Trying to find that blasted Tube station

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I am:
* Listening to the Zombies
* Posting to ILX
* Checking my email on another screen
* Gradually working on my in box (end of govt fiscal year craziness, urgh)

But more important, kate, you are working on a solo project?! I don't know how I missed that info before now.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, it started as a symphony, but then expanded into other stuff, as well. Email me your new address and I'll mail you a copy because I would really like your opinion and stuff...

(Did you ever get the Lollies single that I mailed you ages ago, or did I send it to the wrong state, BTW?)

Danger Whore (kate), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Reading ILX
Watching the cricket score

But the clever bit...

Answering an email
Working on a word document
Working on an excel spreadsheet

Except I am doing those three things on two different computers connected to the same monitor.

I also have MS Project and Access fired up and feeding into one of the computers, and powerpoint on the other one. (and actually using them)

Oh, and I currently have a CD playing (Maestro Echplex's "Last Night I Saw God On The Dancefloor", not as good as the cover of "Prayer To God" had made me think).

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

the mackeral thing is a cheat because the answer uses 'st' instead of 'saint' (or is it 'street'. wrote a unix script to work it out once)

koogs (koogs), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Listening to my new track and thinking about it

Installing a new VMWare image on one monitor

Researching for work and reading ILX on the other monitor

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Not really a cheat though since it's NEVER written down as 'saint'.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

(i can't remember the answer, just the 'cheat'!)

koogs (koogs), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes, Jubilee line.

In addition to the stuff above, I just did some searching of a medical dictionary for The Finn.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Liz, which version of Orlando Furioso are you reading? Prose or poetry? Italian or English? I love that book so much!!

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Poetry, trans. Off Proj. Gutenberg, woohoo free e-texts, come and get 'em while they're hot!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

OMIGOD, POETIC JUSTICE...

Just as I'm sitting on ILX boasting about my multi-tasking abilities, with all these pr0n sites talking about Carl and Pete sucking each others diX0rs, and then the MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE COMPANY COMES OVER AND SITS DOWN AT MY DESK!!! AARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!

He only wanted to use my phone, since it was on the direct sales line, rather than the internal line, but still. Ohmigod, that was a close call. Scary.

Danger Whore (kate), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

multitask!

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

this time with the link!

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh and answering dmaned silly questions.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)
