Fine fine make me jealous.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Brocolli does not belong on pizza.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:20 (twenty-one years ago)

alex, sorry to say, but it surely belongs on my pizza

todd swiss (eliti), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:21 (twenty-one years ago)

alex otm

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Never had broccoli on a pizza, but I must say that it doesn't sound unpleasant.

jim wentworth (wench), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:24 (twenty-one years ago)

broccoli really isnt that much different from spinach if you think about it

todd swiss (eliti), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I need to get a pizza stone for my kitchen. Ally says she knows how to make fresh dough and I already mastered the rest when I was living in a house that had a stone for me to borrow. Also I want to learn to make sushi rolls, what you gonna do then? Be fucking amazed, that's what.

TOMBOT, Friday, 24 September 2004 01:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Dinner at Tom's!

(Todd's pizza sounds good but I'd probably remove the broc too.)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I need to get a pizza stone for my kitchen.

They're great. Got one for Xmas and have used it a few times with excellent results.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

a sushi mat and a rice cooker is the gift man gives himself

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Jess - you're so right. And it's easy (cheap, impressive) cooking for guests, too.

ex-jeremy (x Jeremy), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:41 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah everyone's always "oooh how did you do THIS?" and it's so EASY once you get the vinegar-rice ratio down.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean, i aint gonna go slicing fugu any time soon, but for rolls, its a snap

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Where does one acquire excellent sushi mats (rice cooker unnecessary according to fiancee (ditto bread machine))?

TOMBOT, Friday, 24 September 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh, I'm feeling that way about ratios increasingly with my tomato sauces, I'm starting to get the balance *JUST* right.

rice cooker unnecessary according to fiancee

Reasons? (As I'm considering getting one.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Pizza stones are awesome. And they're the best for reheating pizza too.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

broccoli on pizza may be wrong, but i don't want to be right

Where does one acquire excellent sushi mats

Ginza, 1721 Connecticut Ave. NW?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:47 (twenty-one years ago)

skip the sushi mats and just make sushi family style where you lay all the ingrediants out and people make their own handrolls with whatever they want. that is how the pilgrims did it.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:48 (twenty-one years ago)

buffets don't impress people.

unless they're like really big.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:49 (twenty-one years ago)

broccoli and garlic is a good pizza combo. and sausage.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:49 (twenty-one years ago)

making sushi rolls is too time consuming. handrolls is where it's at.

Carey (Carey), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I really need to go explore the shopping on Connecticut one of these days don't I?

TOMBOT, Friday, 24 September 2004 01:52 (twenty-one years ago)

sushi can be really quick if you own a mandolin to assist in the slicing - be careful with the blade, FWIW, I've grazed 1/4" off a knuckle drunken-slicing.

ex-jeremy (x Jeremy), Friday, 24 September 2004 01:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Broccoli + pizza = classic. Spinach + pizza = turd. Same for any form of cooked spinach. It gets all mooshy and tastes like mud. Ew. Who the hell likes mooshy vegetables anyways? Not me. Fresh spinach salad on the other hand, yum.

Queen Electric Corpsegrinder (Queen Electric Butt Prober BZZ), Friday, 24 September 2004 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

spinach is great stir-fried though. you just gotta throw it in at the last minute with the rest of the veggies.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 24 September 2004 02:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i make a chicken salad with raw spinach leaves topped with hot, olive-oil-fried chicken cutlets that warm the spinach just the right amount to moisten it but not make it soggy. mix in the grease and stray breadcrumbs and YUM.

Cripps Pink (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 24 September 2004 02:06 (twenty-one years ago)

was that a bad sentence? i'm tired.

Cripps Pink (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 24 September 2004 02:07 (twenty-one years ago)

It looks like the menu from my favorite greasy spoon.

jim wentworth (wench), Friday, 24 September 2004 02:10 (twenty-one years ago)

spinach is only good in stuffed pizza. and a pizza cannot be orgasm inducing without black olives. fact.

oops (Oops), Friday, 24 September 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yeah. I too have to have black olives on my pizza. And mushrooms. Sausage would be a nice addition, too, though if they aren't present, chunks of tomato are a nice "substitute". I actually really like bell peppers on pizza as well. And most of the time, pepperoni is an "are you kidding me -- it HAS to be on pizza by default!" ingredient.

I'd be happy to add broccoli to pizza! Broccoli is one of my favorite foods. I love broccoli so long as it isn't soft and squishy or cooked in oil, and I ESPECIALLY love broccoli if it's raw. Um, wait -- does the broccoli stays crisp and firm when it's on the pizza??

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 24 September 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Today I made muffins:

Cinnamon, apple honey-muffins made with cornmeal

and

Cranberry and walnut muffins made with bran flour.

Right now I am making pastries. I am on a manic binge! Hooray for loopy endorphines!

ex-jeremy (x Jeremy), Friday, 24 September 2004 04:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Cranberry and walnut muffins? *drool*

I had cereal for dinner, but only because I had a substantial lunch. (Pizza, oddly enough!) But yesterday (er, "yesterday"), I had The World's Best Pot Roast for dinner and OH MY GOD I will ALWAYS be making pot roast in the crock pot from here on out.
