Does no-one else find it quite funny? Why are you so offended (it wasn't me btw) it made me laugh out loud, apart from the personal insult - we often ARE that trivial. Why so defensive, it just looks humourless, people actually GOING there and attacking whoever did it is like Phil Collins whinging about Chris Morris.

Mr Carlin is otm - the board just looks crap. The hostility to Robin C is way out of order too.

What irks me = I would like to start up one of these boards myself (for non-ILE type discussion), and cannot do so. And here's someone with the knowhow, technology etc required, and they waste it on such a puddle of piss.

Pinefox - go to the LUSENET homepage (it's at the top of the front page of ILE and every thread). The third link down it says "Add a question (i.e. start a new forum)" - or words to that effect. The instructions it gives you are pretty simple, basically just filling in forms.

Tom E - yes, that's what I did. But the process presented unexpected hurdles. I had imagined that it might be almost as simple as contributing to the forum, but it seemed to demand all kinds of other things - 'web domains' or whatever - that were wholly beyond me. But I'll have another look.

You can leave those forms blank PF - thats what I did when I set up the awards forum. As long as you use a valid e-mail address it won't mind.
