In summary: breezes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Here's hoping he gets it wrong.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

anti-climax.

Hari Ashurst (Toaster), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:34 (twenty-one years ago)

his last forecast on breakfast this morning was quite moving, with partridge-esque overtones

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was after the ten o'clock news? I like him coz he likes cold weather.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:38 (twenty-one years ago)

He gets the thumbs up from me. I didn't know he was finishing. There are plenty of young pretenders though.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

its a shame no one who looks like Fish or has his bumbling charisma would make it to doing TV forecasts now...

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 17:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Rob McElwee is still the best though.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

They are still pretty bumbling on the whole, I think.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

John Kettley was a weatherman,
and so was Michael Fish.

caitlin (caitlin), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

they played a song which mentioned Michael Fish on BBC Breakfast which wasn't Tribe of Toffs' John Kettley is a Weatherman! Don't know what it was tho - 2 girls singing. Anyone?

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I know the song you mean - it was kind of punkish, right?

(I have no idea what the artist or title was, though. Sorry)

caitlin (caitlin), Wednesday, 6 October 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Francis Wilson on Sky News because he's always drunk, stumbling about and slurring his words.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Thursday, 7 October 2004 03:21 (twenty-one years ago)

he said a hurricane was not going to hit us, which did 4 points
his voice appears on the prodigy's experience 5 points
9/10 not bad for a weather man

lukey (Lukey G), Thursday, 7 October 2004 08:09 (twenty-one years ago)

he said a hurricane was not going to hit us, which did 4 points

Being a meteorological pedant, he maintains still that it wasn't technically a hurricane.

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 7 October 2004 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

He did his last Countryfile weather last weekend, but they said he was retiring in 6 weeks. I suspect he'll spend the next month and a half doing his last Today programme weather, his last World Service weather etc.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 7 October 2004 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

meteorological ROCKIST, you mean.
