20 "I hate fun" answers by midnight

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Thursday, 7 October 2004 21:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Bush.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 7 October 2004 21:53 (twenty-one years ago)

They are both ugly as fuck now, but Kerry has that lean, ragged thing which is cuter than Bush's cross-eyed Roy Roger's bite.

Kerry was MUCH MUCH cuter when he was younger. Quite the hottie in those Senate testify-ing pics.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

kerry is hot in a "robert redford circa three days of the condor" sort of way.

pfeffernuesse (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Kerry looks like a chat show host or sports reporter. Bush looks like a dim failed white collar criminal.

Momus (Momus), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Yuck. You can't call a mass murderer 'cute'.

Core of Sphagnum (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Bush looks like a dim failed white collar criminal.

Well he is their poster boy.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

It doesn't matter. Well, it shouldn't matter, but I suppose it does. But it shouldn't. In fact, people shouldn't vote based on candidates, but based on issues. In other words, when you goto the polls, behind the curtain you'd check off a number of different answers regarding a number of different issues. Whichever candidate's agenda matched the most amount of votes for those specific issues would win. That way, whether or not Kerry's tan is real or whether Clinton wore boxers or briefs or whomever's wife looks more like his mother WOULDN'T MATTER,

This is an unrealistic, utopian idea, of course, so onto the real answer to this question. Bush's ridiculous smirk and perpetual expression of befuddled arrogance renders him nothing but smackable and whole solar systems away from any semblance of "cuteness". Kerry may look like an Easter Island monument made flesh, but who gives a damn?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Bush is a total cabbageface. Kerry's a raisinface. Raisins are cuter than cabbages. Therefore, Kerry wins.

Remy (x Jeremy), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Bush is the "cuter".

Howard Wine (nordicskilla), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Choice A) A Chimp
Choice B) A Zombie

I choice choice C) Winona Ryder.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Neither of them, but Al Gore was waaay hott when he was younger.

k3rry (dymaxia), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I wouldn't touch either of them with a barge pole. Bush might be slightly more conventionally attractive but his eyes are too close together and the dim light of that curious combination which is a sense of monied entitlement married to mild retardation that shines from his face would work as an efficient prophylactic if he weren't so wealthy.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 7 October 2004 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex does every thread about Bush/Kerry have to be relevant to the election?

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex does every thread about Bush/Kerry have to be relevant to the election?

With only 26 days to go until election day, yes.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Kerry was MUCH MUCH cuter when he was younger. Quite the hottie in those Senate testify-ing pics.

Unfortunately, I have to say I think twentysomething Bush was way way hotter than twentysomething Kerry.

Doesn't matter, though. Edwards still looks twentysomething and is still hot.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Both look shit. Bush slightly more normalised shit. Clinton looked great. Bush Snr looked not bad. Reagan, as president, looked pretty shit, but not as shit as Bush & Kerry. It actually doesn't matter who looks cuter, I would guess.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:38 (twenty-one years ago)

1971 Kerry looked quite good.

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Vote for him then.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

like DUH

Sir Kingfish Beavis D'Azzmonch (Kingfish), Friday, 8 October 2004 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

i choose C) as well

todd swiss (eliti), Friday, 8 October 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Kerry is much more stylish, so Kerry wins. I was reading the latest Vogue and there's an article on Elizabeth Peyton who of course painted a portrait of 1971 Kerry before the Foreign Relations Committee.

Kerry has a young Bacharach thing going on.

jadrenos (jadrenos), Friday, 8 October 2004 06:30 (twenty-one years ago)

not exactly the picture I was looking for, but still.

jadrenos (jadrenos), Friday, 8 October 2004 06:36 (twenty-one years ago)

ok, now let's do edwards vs. cheney

Symplistic (shmuel), Friday, 8 October 2004 07:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Alan Shartouk said Kerry looked like the Planters Peanuts man and Bush looked like...oh, I can't remember. Something equally funny.

aimurchie, Friday, 8 October 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Edwards beats both of them.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 8 October 2004 07:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Edwards is man-pretty.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 8 October 2004 08:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Call me weird- I am just not attracted to close set eyes! I'm not a swing voter, a terrorist mom or a nascar dad! I just don't like those close set eyes!

(Because the blog link upthread is suddenly broken.)

Momus (Momus), Friday, 8 October 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

More ammo for the argument that says Kerry, if born 20 years later, would have been a(nother) silver-spoon shoegazer.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 8 October 2004 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

A flipflopgazer, surely?

Momus (Momus), Friday, 8 October 2004 09:42 (twenty-one years ago)

McCain was extremely hot when he was younger, especially in that photo of him being taken out of his bamboo box on a stretcher. emaciated, yes, but still dreamy. as far as Bush/Kerry go, i sadly must say that at present time bush is more attractive.

Emilymv (Emilymv), Friday, 8 October 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

But, really, who would you rather have ask you out?

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Friday, 8 October 2004 13:04 (twenty-one years ago)

A leper?

I think looks are very relevant to election. Right or wrong, a lot of people vote based on charisma/charm/what-have-you. I mean, statisticly, isn't it true that usually the taller candidate wins?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 8 October 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

kerry looks a little like robert forster, no?

cheney -sadly- looks a little like grant mclennan nowadays

dave amos, Friday, 8 October 2004 14:04 (twenty-one years ago)

CLinton in that picture -- po' white trash from Arkansas who cain't afford no haircut. And they say the American Dream is dead.

Gold Teeth II (kenan), Friday, 8 October 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

kerry's hair above looks both stylish and luxuriantly full bodied. a mark of coddled priviledge perhaps, but nonetheless you have to take your hat off to him. clinton on the other hand looks like an under 17s geordie footballer.

dave amos, Friday, 8 October 2004 14:16 (twenty-one years ago)

interestingly, bush's monobrow appears to have disappeared between his national guard and presidential days. surely a vulnerable point kerry could exploit?

dave amos, Friday, 8 October 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Bush eyebrow flip-flopping!

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 8 October 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

monkey vs. pilgrim father. none of them looks cute.

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Friday, 8 October 2004 17:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I vote for ILX poster K3rry.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 8 October 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I vote for Gavin Rossdale of Bush (swoon).

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 8 October 2004 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

No, wait, I change my vote to bush. You know.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 8 October 2004 18:12 (twenty-one years ago)

i vote for kate bush.

pfeffernuesse (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 8 October 2004 18:29 (twenty-one years ago)

according to people I know: Bill > Chris Heinz > Gore > Kerry > Bush

don't know where Edwards fits in there. I'd guess somewhere in the middle.
