Are we excited about this? Might it shed some light on this admittedly intriguing albeit fearsome chapter of murderous late 60's warped hippie dystopia...or will it be just another exploitative excuse for revisionism, nudity, gratuitious violence and serial killer fetishism?

Weigh in, pilgrims.

It looks...absolute bollocks.

I mean, I am literally more looking forward to getting my face eaten off by a bear than watching this movie. I've even put that in my diary now.

I guess this is all easy for me to say.

It will still probably be more watchable than The Aviator.

so sadly true.

A Manson Family film starring Dicaprio, Blanchett, Beckinsale and Gwen Stefani would kick ass, though.

What's the attraction with Manson anyway? It's never seemed that interesting to me.

I think the intriguing question is why and how Charlie Manson came to have such influence over these people....and enough to convince them into committing such heinous acts. And as true crime books go, Bugliosi's "Helter Skelter" was pretty gripping.

HOLY FUCKING CRAP. I DESIGNED THAT WEBSITE!

(i didn't really design it, but i put it together, and i'm totally ashamed of it).

so i had the most miserable job for the past three years. i worked with at this company. out major client was Sun Microsystems. the guy in the left picture with the gun to his head is named S@M TURRC0T3. he worked for sun and told us he'd get us big paying jobs if we did work for him for free. he had the worst taste in the world. on of the other movies he worked on was called 'no pain no gain' and it was about a bodybuilder that wanted to be respected for his mind not his body. total b movie crap.

so anyways, my boss Mark would sit over my shoulder with the worst ciggarette and coffee breath and dictate how i should design the sites. put this color there, make it this big, etc. it was totally misserable and i hated every day i had to work with them, but there were no other jobs (dot com bomb).

i can't believe this is actually coming out. it was made in the early 90s or something like that and was originally called Chalie's Family.

guh, alex, i hate you!@

Ed Sanders' The Family is even better than that Bugliosi book.

Love the sinner, hate the sin?

Underground horror filmmaker Jim Van Bebber has spent about 10 years of his life shooting this picture, I'm quite psyched to see it. So it is NOT something to dismiss as a straight to video cheapie. With part of the storyline taking place in the present day, it sounds like he's dealing with the cultural fascination with Manson itself.
