Same kinds of topics, smaller posts... slightly different vibe maybe? More USA focussed? Not sure.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 10 October 2004 03:58 (twenty-one years ago)

stupid hardcore kids

sometimes i like to pretend i am very small and warm (ex machina), Sunday, 10 October 2004 04:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait - ILX isn't for Americans?

Nowell, Sunday, 10 October 2004 04:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Infidel Defilers. They shall all drown in lakes of blood.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Sunday, 10 October 2004 04:02 (twenty-one years ago)

this looks awful.

Germany's Fun-Loving Beer (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 10 October 2004 04:03 (twenty-one years ago)

We're Ricky Lake, they're Jerry Springer.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 10 October 2004 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

....Ok...

Nowell, Sunday, 10 October 2004 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

STICKY? I don't like the orange.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Sunday, 10 October 2004 05:49 (twenty-one years ago)

looking at that makes me profoundly depressed. i mean, maybe they're probably not as smart and funny as us and they're ugly and oragne, but they've got their own board injokes and trolls and guerilla black threads and seans and fashion tips and nonsense. it makes me feel like every version of myself that could possibly exist has already existed.

m. (mitchlnw), Sunday, 10 October 2004 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

rather hipstery. I know a few of 'em.

Remy (x Jeremy), Sunday, 10 October 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Are they friendly?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 10 October 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

pheh... they're really into hanging out at Swingers.

Remy (x Jeremy), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe probably? blurgh. i should probably just leave the internet forever.

m. (mitchlnw), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

M., you must not fret.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Why'd they choose an orange background? It hurts the eyes.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

The only thing I like better than other boards is when they have avatars.

But then, after about ten minutes, avators get really annoying. And I decide that I like boards without avators and massive fuckoff .sig images much, much better...

Danger Whore (kate), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

electric sound of jim is playing both sides of the fence!! i say when he comes back we turn off all the lights and get real quiet and then scare seven types of shit out of him

You've Got to Pick Up Every Stitch (tracerhand), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Sometimes I wish ILX showed who posted last on a thread, but then I remember how sweet the mystery and anonymity of a thread just popping to the top is.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Its Parallell Board theory.

mark grout (mark grout), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a good idea, Roxy! But it would be even better if you could colour code the new answers according to how much you liked the last person that posted on a thread, so you can rush with glee to read the new answers of people you like, and avoid those you don't...

Danger Whore (kate), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh my god, that's a terrific idea.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, you're both mean, I know you'll just use that feature to block me! *cries*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:19 (twenty-one years ago)

No, Ned, you're definitely a happy purple link, as would be Roxy. :-)

Danger Whore (kate), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned, I've already assigned you the color pink on my planning page, here.

xpost

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

What colour would you assign to various ILXors? Now that's a thread...

Danger Whore (kate), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

somebody's gonna be pissed off at aqua.

Remy (x Jeremy), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I think the people I don't like would be more yellow, so it didn't show up very well. People I REALLY didn't like would be red to signify DANGER!!! DANGER!!!

Danger Whore (kate), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:23 (twenty-one years ago)

joseph pot (STINKOR™), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

damn, they've got an ayler and a manitoba thread on their frontpage too. don't they know how this hurts me.

m. (mitchlnw), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought tanya's "i hate music" predated ILM? no light shed on what this jandek-topped moody board you just linked to is, though

You've Got to Pick Up Every Stitch (tracerhand), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost - and they have an ihateeverything board. and avatars.

joseph pot (STINKOR™), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I pretend not to know of such things.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Sunday, 10 October 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

does anyone know of any good chatrooms where I talk talk to Americans and see whether/how they are going to vote? And this stop myself panicking so much that they are going to elect Bush again and WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE becausse he is such a fuckwit?

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Sunday, 10 October 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

it would be good if ilx had a "mayday malone's" (of cheers) - style rivalry with another board. with a fiercely competitive, prank-filled annual softball game.

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 10 October 2004 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, we have Alex in NYC on our side as serious competitor, we'll smoke their lame asses (or something).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 10 October 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

we'll get the noize dudes to spike their gatorade with lsd or something

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 10 October 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

we'll pump microhouse 'til their stirrups.. err.. break.

m. (mitchlnw), Sunday, 10 October 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

There have been grudge football matches against Sinister in the past!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 10 October 2004 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Are the ILX rivals a bit like Shelbyville in The Simpsons where each character has a doppleganger with a similiar name?

such as Ted Blaggart.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Sunday, 10 October 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

roxy, Blog View shows the last post to a thread.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Sunday, 10 October 2004 22:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I like this:

i am so perplexed. i was driving through the parking lot at work this morning, on my way to get some much needed coffee, when this woman I work with comes running across the lot, waving her arms at me. I am like "huh? me?" because I have never spoken to this woman before, much like most of the people I work with. She is probably in her late thirties to mid forties, rather large, with long stringy hair halfway down her back. Very.....strange looking, to be diplomatic about it. Anyway, she gets to my car and I roll down the window, thinking maybe she wants me to pick her up some coffee or something. Instead, she says "here, take this" and hands me a scrap of paper. "what is it? did I drop it?" I ask, still half asleep and cranky. "no, just take it!" she says, and backs away. I look back and she is already like ten feet from my car so I continue driving out of the lot and unfold the paper.

it reads: "If intarsted, call xxx-xxxx"

???

i didnt know what to do. was she asking me out? she is possibly twice my age and has never even acknowledged me before. is she trying to get me to go to church with her or something? I felt really awkward so i avoided her for the rest of the day. she never said anything to me or even came near my desk.

Gear! (Gear!), Monday, 11 October 2004 00:40 (twenty-one years ago)

this gets me to thinking ... what ever happened to that surrogate ilxor board we had when the real ilxor was being renovated?!?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 11 October 2004 00:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean, after having stepped away from the surrogate ilxor has it mutated into something quite different and stranger than what it originally was ... kinda like lister's cat from red dwarf?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 11 October 2004 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

It's still there:
http://www.network54.com/Index/19798

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 11 October 2004 00:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, so what you're saying, Gear, is that they have their own Gear over there, too.

Except it was a guy wearing a pirate hat.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Monday, 11 October 2004 01:28 (twenty-one years ago)

network54 is infested w/ spyware ... let surrogate ilxor rot and fester!!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 11 October 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought Mandee said it was gonna expire within a month, but it's still there... Weird.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 11 October 2004 06:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I mentioned to her a couple weeks ago that it was still up. She was totally unaware.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 11 October 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

H remembers mitchblog! i'm flattered. (H, i have a new co-blog now that i don't know if i'm ready to share with ilx)

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks guys! the blog = http://hecticblog.blogspot.com

it's only very occasionally a music blog (tho my the next post is gonna be about the threat of wholesomeness to s african music i think) - more just random musing from me + friend (he's a philosophy major - you'll be able to tell), we're trying (and mostly failing, so far) to give it a bit of a local bent because i couldn't find one smart south african blog on the internet.

i show you this on the condition that: you can't beat me up over the microhouse post in the archives that's wrong in 14 distinct ways and forget the pynchon post. but i *will* stand by bedingfield.

m. (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i didn't know you lived in s africa!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

most people here prob think i'm american, huh? i think inheriting my dad's collection of mad magazines at age 7 permanently colonized part of my brain.

m. (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 20 October 2004 19:03 (twenty-one years ago)

i totally thought you were american--for some reason i remembered you saying you lived in some northeastern american city!
