So a double question, then:

1. Casablanca, which I had only seen bits of before, found used on DVD the other day and finally watched last night, and which is, indeed, all that, in my not so humble opinion. The very definition of a prime ensemble cast, a slew of grouchy one-liners, beautifully photographed, indeed a great film. Your thoughts? I will say that a couple of the potboiler moments almost tipped things over, but I've seen a lot worse, and any number of scenes or exchanges made up the difference easily.

2. Related to that and probably asked before -- you and yer ex have A Song. Do you request it from DJs or musicians? Do you specifically request it *around* your ex? Do you switch the radio off or have a fit if you hear it and then skedaddle? Etc. -- again, I'm sure we've asked about songs that have been tough to hear, but how dramatic/melodramatic have your circumstances with said song ever gotten?

Since I more or less answered number one -- for the second question, I don't think I've ever specifically had a song with an ex outside of one notable and fraught exception in 1992, and that was mostly about the lyrics of all things. Though I think I have semi-weepily put on a song or two on my show about somebody...

I don't think I've properly had A Song with any of my fancy men, unless you count Holy Diver by Dio (for me and Dan, for very silly reasons). There are certain songs that remind me of different people though, but that's not quite the same because there's no guarantee that the same songs would trigger the same reaction with them. If I did have A Song, I probably wouldn't request it because that seems a little maudlin and masochistic, and I don't enjoy wallowing in regret, etc.
