but yeah it's pretty good despite the obvious Sex & The City meets Six Feet Under, err, 'theme'
Well, it made ILX - I guess I can call my in-laws and tell them the show is officially a hit! Honestly, Andrea is a great kid and i'm glad the show is a success.

I'm amazed at ABC this season. Suddenly I'm watching it again! "Lost," "Desperate Housewives," and even reality shows like "Extreme Home Makeover" (house porn!) and especially "Wife Swap" have totally won me over.
A word about "Wife Swap" -- it's the cruelest, most revealing and fascinating reality show yet. It's subject is not so much wives as conflicting American values, and it damn near addresses the issue of social class. Compare to "The Bachelor," which pitts a bunch of women who all have the same fucked-up values against one another. Very dull. "Wife Swap" pitts vegetarians against meat eaters, Southerners against Yankees, the rich and spoiled against the modest and hard-working, the arrogant against the meek. Genius.

Victoria Beckham has announced that she is no longer interested in fame.
The former Spice Girl confessed that she now feels like the real-life version of Lynette Scavo on US hit show Desperate Housewives.
"The fact is, I'm getting older. I'm 31, my children are my priority," she told the Sunday Mirror. "I'm just not interested in fame any more. The truth is, I see myself as one of the characters from the series Desperate Housewives - the one who has the most kids. All day with the kids, up and down, trying to cook and clean.
"I'm never going to sing again, unless it was a chance to do something with the Spice Girls. I don't really miss the shows we did together. I miss the girls more. I see Geri a lot - I love her, she's amazing. I speak to the others from time to time. I love them too and I miss them."

carlos is the only consistently good thing about this show. his character is terribly backed into a corner, and ew now he's going to get his sight back? they're giving up.dave provides some serious serious cognitive dissonance though. like him. hope he's not one of the usual "cause a scandal for a season and then die/move away" characters this show always comes up with.

The more I watch this it's actually kind of brilliant? Like some kind of meta soap opera where they cram every cliche and every dramatic turn possible into every episode. Also the dialogue is often very clever.

My husband loves the show (he's currently on a bit of a binge watch). Lotsa gays seem to love this show. I kinda dig it when its pulpy, and kinda hate it when it goes for pathos. Cross is pretty fantastic. Huffman is too, but being most familiar with her from Sports Night, there is the occasional moment where you can catch her playing beneath intelligence. The guy who plays Hatcher's main love interest is awful--any time the show shifts focus to Hatcher, it pretty much grinds to a dead halt, in fact. Basically Morbs completely OTM upthread a decade ago with "While it's not totally worthless, I am unsurprised that it was created by a gay Republican."
