Wifey said yes. The fool!

So we're planning a wedding for late summer. Looking for suggestions, advice until then.

Hooray!

Congratulations to you and wife(y)!

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Monday, 11 October 2004 07:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Right on! I know nothing of weddings, so all I can say is congrats etc.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Monday, 11 October 2004 07:58 (twenty-one years ago)

congrats! my advice would be to think carefully about inviting anyone you think might be likely to, in the event of a torrential downpour, dive over the table and demolish your wedding cake in the process. like in that Guns n' Roses video (but you won't be getting married in November so it's ok right?)

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Monday, 11 October 2004 08:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Send Telegrams/Telemessages!

Best Man: "Ah, umm here's a message from roxymusak, not the famous group but ermm... "Hey Roger Adultery.....""

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Monday, 11 October 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

The only advice I'd offer is get a master of ceremonies or a toast master for the reception - the wedding I was best man at this summer had one and he was a god send, making sure everyone knew what order speeches were in and making sure everyone followed ettiquette etcetera - he was invaluable.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 11 October 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought you were married already? I'm confused!

brock (brock), Monday, 11 October 2004 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Some real advice? i was called Thurs. morning to be the wedding coordinator for my friends Fri. wedding. Ask a friend to do all the stuff like: make sure candles are placed, musicians are cued, groom knows when bride is about to appear, all the ceremony details that have to be worked out...(and ask this friend before the day before the wedding). It should not be someone in the wedding party. Then watch said friend drink alarming amounts of gin and tonic and lose their shoes at the reception.

aimurchie, Monday, 11 October 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and - CONGRATULATIONS!

aimurchie, Monday, 11 October 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

some real advice? get tan as fuck to belt out sparks covers at the reception.

brock (brock), Monday, 11 October 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Great news! Congrats!
(and I also thought you were already married)

Rock, Rog!

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

As my friend Joe told me when I got married, "Congratulations, you have just added seven years to your life expectancy." (Apparently married men live longer, though not as long as their wives, generally.)

Formerly Lee G (Formerly Lee G), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to admit that stat bugs me, in that I wish to live longer but am not yet married. (Was the research done by the If You Get Married You Live Longer Foundation?)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Dunno, but it's been floating around for years. I'm still alive after seven years of marriage, so I guess it's all gravy from here on.

Formerly Lee G (Formerly Lee G), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Kick back, m'friend.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

BTW, didn't the future Mr. and Mrs. Adultery move to Knoxville? If so, you gotta look up my old amigo Peg Hambright--she makes the most amazing wedding cakes right there in town. The name of her company is Mag Pies. You won't be sorry.

Formerly Lee G (Formerly Lee G), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I am useless at HTML. Try www.magpiesweddingcakes.com.

Formerly Lee G (Formerly Lee G), Monday, 11 October 2004 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I assumed since you called her Wifey, she was your wife. Oh how wrong. Congrats, dude. Marriage is fun.
