Should I see John Cale

I just found out John Cale is playing tomorrow night an hour away from me. I have heard only a little bit of his solo stuff (Vintage Violence, which I did not like) I really love the Velvet Underground and his production work though, but I am still not sure if I should go. Has anyone seen him? Is it worth it?
