i saw this bumper-sticker this past weekend and, in light of tonight's debate (not to mention the entire 3+ years under bushco), it would be hard for me to better summarize my own thoughts about what bush has done to this country under his watch and my frustration with my countrymen for allowing it all to happen. that said, it really isn't the best slogan in the world is it -- a little too strident, a little too smug to really appeal to any fence-sitters to whom one must appeal to get rid of bush. i fear that the underlying attitude kinda says, "haha dumbass yer on the fence wr2 kerry and bush not b/c yer not sure what to think, but b/c too stupid to know what's going on as opposed to my oh-so-enlightened ass". but i can't help the way i feel.

alternate title: on being an angry, radical moderate less than a month from the election!

I sort of agree but I also think that a lot of the problems that we're facing as a country have been around before Bush took office, and that the ever-increasing hijack of not only the GOP but the ENTIRE political agenda by the Christian Right is more to blame. Bush is responsible, yes, but he's only one part of a much larger, much more nefarious problem.

but yeah I guess you can't make a bumper sticker outta that. Sorry.

I think the slogan was more accurate when it first came out. It felt more like there was a small minority that was paying attention to Bush's crimes even after 9/11. But Bush bashing has totally sold out. Now even the media sometimes criticizes Bush.

stencil the bumper sticker in question doesn't mention bush! maybe it's strictly about the christian right!

shouldn't you direct that to Eisbar too?

If I am not very mush mistaken, this predates Bushco by at least a decade. It's a bit shrill, self-righteous and likely to turn off swing voters so, while I might sympathise, I will eschew it.
