gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:23 (twenty years ago)

I went to an industry showcase for a new band last night. They're odd events.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:26 (twenty years ago)

who'd ya see? who went?

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:27 (twenty years ago)

Well the band had no actual name as such - a friend of mine. Sony, EMI etc etc there, invited and driven to the venue in limousines.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:38 (twenty years ago)

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:50 (twenty years ago)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:53 (twenty years ago)

I'd love to come out, as I'm a big ball of painful stress, but I have so much frickin' trouble getting out. I'll probably fall asleep on the couch.

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:55 (twenty years ago)

Not for we plebs. But there were free drinks. (x-post)

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:56 (twenty years ago)

did anyone crowd surf?

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:58 (twenty years ago)

did you schmooze C2000 into the favours of the major label elite?

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 15 October 2004 00:59 (twenty years ago)

Hehe we brought 3 CDs but didn't schmooze in the end as it just didn't feel right. We did however drink, laugh, dance and cheer. We provided much needed drunk rabble rousing.

Bulbs, no-one crowd surfed, it was more a Crowded House kind of sound. We had a little boogie. At times it felt like being in an 80's teen movie.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 15 October 2004 01:03 (twenty years ago)

youse guys are boring

bulbs (bulbs), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:19 (twenty years ago)

Hahaha the lesbian chick on Neighbours just said she was a fan of Peaches!

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 15 October 2004 07:53 (twenty years ago)

3/5ths or so of the Sand Pebbles write Neighbours scripts. They try to drop musical references here and there, so they said in, um, some article.

Haaaaaitch (haitch), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:03 (twenty years ago)

My secret identity revealed in that exchange there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:38 (twenty years ago)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Saturday, 16 October 2004 23:56 (twenty years ago)

bulbs (bulbs), Sunday, 17 October 2004 00:04 (twenty years ago)

drag. i really can't wait to get out of here. it's not possible to go and get the paper without having to fight my way through crowds.

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Sunday, 17 October 2004 00:09 (twenty years ago)

What crowds? Is something on?

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 17 October 2004 00:12 (twenty years ago)

Crowds? Is there something on?

I worked yesterday on OzCo stuff all day yesterday and got shitload more today. But the next chapter of that book on the Sydney industrial band of the 80's arrived and I enjoyed reading that too.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Sunday, 17 October 2004 00:13 (twenty years ago)

haha

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Sunday, 17 October 2004 00:15 (twenty years ago)

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 4 November 2004 04:42 (twenty years ago)

by crikey, that's quite a few tellies!! imagine seeing 17 images of bush in different poses, you must be scarred for life adam! *shudders*

I had my eyes closed most of the time, or just stared at the ceiling or out of the window. I'm willing to bet most of the people in there were doing the same thing.

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 4 November 2004 04:43 (twenty years ago)

and then not being able to walk!

bulbs (bulbs), Thursday, 4 November 2004 04:43 (twenty years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 4 November 2004 04:45 (twenty years ago)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 05:49 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. If someone said I had a 'poofter's arse' I'd be stoked. They work hard on their glutes, them poofters.

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 4 November 2004 05:49 (twenty years ago)

Michael Stuchbery (Mikey Bidness), Thursday, 4 November 2004 05:54 (twenty years ago)

Adam and I both live near a ton of synagogues. And a rabbinical college is 3 doors up from my house.

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 4 November 2004 07:11 (twenty years ago)

Fuck it Trayce, make it a whole new thread. If anything's ever been worthy of its own thread it's that.

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 4 November 2004 07:11 (twenty years ago)

aren't we in trouble wif andrew for creating new bush-related threads?

Remy (x Jeremy), Thursday, 4 November 2004 07:12 (twenty years ago)

This isn't Bush-related, it's comedy.

Adamdrome Crankypants (Autumn Almanac), Thursday, 4 November 2004 07:19 (twenty years ago)

Damn, now it just says 'GeorgeLaura'. What did it used to say?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Thursday, 4 November 2004 21:34 (twenty years ago)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 22:22 (twenty years ago)

Janne - you have yet to nominate your favourite songs on the ILM BM thread.

Sami j, Thursday, 4 November 2004 22:23 (twenty years ago)

Aw did they change the filename? It used to say "asshole.jpg"

Oh well. Yeah I didnt put it in its own thread as I'm sick of them all myself. No point now anyhoo. A guy at work MSNed me with the link, I dunno how long it did the rounds for.

I don't feel too well today, my ears are all sore :( *sniffle, looks for sympathy*

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 4 November 2004 22:36 (twenty years ago)

*gives sympathy*

*looks curiously at Trayce's ears*

bulbs (bulbs), Thursday, 4 November 2004 22:40 (twenty years ago)

They aren't going to explode or anything you know ;) I have had no smokes in about 36 hours, which is nothing special but it always seems if I go a night or 2 without smokes my ears and throat react and go all claggy. Odd.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 4 November 2004 22:52 (twenty years ago)

that's what happens trayce. for about two or three weeks after quitting, i had a sore mouth and my phlegm was way worse than usual. but this goes away and gives way to glorious clearness of throat and sinus.

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:10 (twenty years ago)

so did anyone see me on the tv? for the 1.5 seconds i was actually in shot?

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:15 (twenty years ago)

I havent quit perse, thats the problem... and I know smoking messes my sinuses up something rotten, and makes me tired... you'd think that'd make me want to quit. I dont even enjoy it that much anymore, and never get cravings. Its just habit, and I'm a horrible sucker for my habits. Why can't this shit be illegal so its too hard for me to bother getting often, like the other smoke? Gah. Anyhoo.

xpost Oh I forgotted about your TV thing! :( And anyway it was L&O/Stargate nite ;P

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:15 (twenty years ago)

o no o no o no

i forgot jim :(

bulbs (bulbs), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:18 (twenty years ago)

i taped it anyway. most of it was the back of my head though. terrifically unexciting but still sort of cool.

just stop having them trayce. i had terrible trouble keeping off them each time i 'quit' but this time i just couldn't cope with them anymore. and it worked.

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:20 (twenty years ago)

if you treat feeling healthier like an addiction......

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:21 (twenty years ago)

i was just joking jim! i know you listen to indie AND fleetwood mac exclusively.

gazebulbs (bulbs), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:37 (twenty years ago)

hehehe

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 4 November 2004 23:38 (twenty years ago)

Yeah I should just keep thinking "I feel better, this is the stuff". I dunno why I dont.
