Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Friday, 15 October 2004 02:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I like that haircut

supercub, Friday, 15 October 2004 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Return to 1993.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 02:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i think that haircut is sexy

gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 02:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i had a floppy indie haircut that was getting unmanagably floppy. and then i thought, what if i did *this?*, and put some shit in it and made it go back, and now suddenly i have John Edwards hair. it's like a new lease on life.

g--ff (gcannon), Friday, 15 October 2004 02:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I've now developed a decently floppy indie haircut. Pretty much I just trim my hair by yanking out and chopping off particularly unweildy chunks. It saves scads of $$ too.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Friday, 15 October 2004 02:53 (twenty-one years ago)

don't do it. you will look like a fuckhead.

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

(sorry, i've had floppy fringe envy since the early 90s)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:07 (twenty-one years ago)

hehe.... richard ashcroft doesn't look like a fuckhead in that photo!

gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I paid the most I have ever paid for a hair cut a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to a barbershop next time.

Jeff-PTTL (Jeff), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Bet he still sounds like one, gem.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:20 (twenty-one years ago)

hehe maybe, the photo doesn't sing though

gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:22 (twenty-one years ago)

wwwwoops i thought that was rob thomas.

g--ff (gcannon), Friday, 15 October 2004 03:37 (twenty-one years ago)

that looks like Ashton Kutcher

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:00 (twenty-one years ago)

but richard ashcroft is attractive!

gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:03 (twenty-one years ago)

he looks like a hobbit in that photo

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:05 (twenty-one years ago)

a hobbit with no thumb(!)

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

oh dear. you are right. it would seem that i find small fictional men with pointy ears and hairy feet attractive! *cries* no wonder i don't have a boyfriend.

gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

(sorry, i've had floppy fringe envy since the early 90s)

Yeah, me too.

supercub, Friday, 15 October 2004 04:06 (twenty-one years ago)

gem if you go to the right convention centers on certain weekends you'll find that those men are not fictional at all

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

ew

gem (trisk), Friday, 15 October 2004 04:08 (twenty-one years ago)

floppy indie haircut is fine unless you have super-fine, super-shiny perfect hair. your hair must be flawed a bit for it to work.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 06:31 (twenty-one years ago)

'Flawed hair'. I don't know what this means.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 07:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean. my hair is super-fine, but I think I kind of thought that was a flaw.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 07:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I still like floppy indie haircuts. I was a little upset when my husband finally got a haircut a month or so ago.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Friday, 15 October 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

my hair is very fine too. it blows all over the place. when I was very small my brothers and my sister used to give me mohawks using the hoover.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

It has to be cowlicky or wavy or otherwise un-straight for it to work really well, but not curly.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't do it, Leee!!! Unless you want to have sex with indie girls!

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, way to talk him out of it.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think my hair is 'cowlicky', but it's hard to say.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

i had no idea people went out and paid for floppy indy haircuts. i just grow it out and cut it myself and repeat.

kephm (kephm), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:13 (twenty-one years ago)

if your hair is fine how is it cowlicky Alba?

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, my hair is a touch too curly when it gets long. It does weird things and not in a 'cool' way. Then again, I haven't had it very long since high school, but the signs are still there.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know what 'cowlicky' means, which is why I wasn't sure.

Basically, roxy is saying I have shit hair.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Alba, I've seen you and this haircut would work for you. Wait, don't you already have one? :x

xpost your hair is fine! I mean, good. Whatever.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

But it is fine and dead straight!

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

egomaniac

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

That doesn't mean bad, that's actually really good hair to have. It's perfect. It's just that people with said hair that get the floppy indie boy haircut invariably end up looking like frat boy followers rather than cute indie boys. Granted, if you otherwise look nothing like a fratboy, you'll be fine. I should have explained better. I had an image in my mind of the bad indie haircut-haver, but I didn't really explain the criteria enough.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I was going for the fratboy look but came out of the salon looking like an indie sap.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Bonus!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I currently have limited options with regard to my hair (I repeat, Syd Barrett on a bike circa 2002...it's frightening, it really is...).

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 15 October 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

As for me, change the habit of fifteen years? Please.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, go on. A change is as good as a rest, Ned.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Nah. I really like long hair! The waves and curls are great.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

You can keep long hair - just a different style of long hair.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Except I like mine.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 13:48 (twenty-one years ago)

This might be a bad look for me; my hair is very straight.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I wouldn't bother, it'll make your ears get all hot, and you'll start fashioning yourself DIY hairbands.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, it has gotten very cold here in FABULOUS CHICAGO.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

BRRRR! I wore my coat today!

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

or is that just what happens to me when my hair gets long?

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Warmest haircut? Probably an afro.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Or setting your hair on fire.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Or one of those light-bulb hats that the Red Hot Chili Peppers wore that one time.

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I think we need some photoshopping of Ned with short hair. It just seems wrong, and yet it intrigues me.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

The person (besides me girlfriend) who got me into comics by lending me Planetary trades during English classes was an Asian guy with an indie haircut. It wasn't exactly floppy, but it did cover his ears. It looked warm.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned would seriously need sideburns if he had short hair.

I reckon it would be like when Metallica cut their hair, please don't do it Ned!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

More like when Bolton did, I think.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

The whole town??

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Rob or Michael?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned would seriously need sideburns if he had short hair.

Quite so! The long hair allows me to indulge my hate fully.

I reckon it would be like when Metallica cut their hair, please don't do it Ned!

Fret not. Said it before, will say it again -- it will go only if baldness kicks in. As of yet, the hairline hasn't moved an inch and the top is still there.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

seriously this is the best haircut for boys, why would you not want to get one?

Allyzay Science Explosion (allyzay), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned's hair is the rock that we all depend on.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I need a new haircut idea, too. Right now I have long.. sorority girl-esque hair. It's very sad.

battlin' green eyeshades (Homosexual II), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

haha my friends tell me I look like a young Ed Harris sometimes ;(

Gear! (Gear!), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

A sad winking face. So weird.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

gear, ed harris is good looking kinda!

battlin' green eyeshades (Homosexual II), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I know, I'm thinking "young Ed Harris" sounds pretty hot.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:57 (twenty-one years ago)

gear, do you have low self esteem?

battlin' green eyeshades (Homosexual II), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean, i've been told i look like the singer of the hives, that beats young ed harris like totally!

battlin' green eyeshades (Homosexual II), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Was he bald when we was young?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 15 October 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a minimullet up at the top. Do you honestly want that on your head?

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 15 October 2004 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)
