What was the last thing you stole?

Most of us are not averse to a bit of light fingered pinching - never from an individual, but say, a wee Twix out of W.H Smith, an eyeliner out of Boots, you know the thang...

I've very rarely stolen myself, at the age of fourteen I went through a spate of pinching Creme Eggs out of Tesco and the adrenaline of it all kept me in Creme Eggs for weeks.

I fell away from it (as you do when you mature), but last year I got the urge again. I was standing in line at the cigarette counter when I spied a display of Kinder Beunos. I'd heard mixed reviews about them and didn't want to pay 45p for something I had a feeling I wouldn't like.

So I pocketed it. Bought the fags. Left. I didn't enjot the Beuno and it went in the bin. Now I'm glad I didn't waste my money on it.

I stole a handful of pretty seashells too - a shop was actually trying to sell them for a couple of quid each! You could pick them off the beach next to the shop ferfucksake! It was a cafe come gallery come expensive giftshop, and some of the stuff they were selling was just ridiculous self indulgent tosh. We were charged a fiver each for a substandard bacon sarnie, so I snatched a fistful of shells on the way out the door in an act of defiance.

Kev was bemused by my actions, but God it made me feel good.

Pr3stw1ck airport, selling ballpoint pens for a quid a shot or something. In order to do the crossword on the flight I needed it too, so I pocketed the pen and bought a packet of chewing gum instead.

Whilst attending college, I occasionally helped a friend on his radio show. The station had an enormous library of CDs and LPs, 99% of them unused because several years before I was there, the radio station had switched from DJs playing whatever they wanted to a strict Top 40 formula, i.e. lots of MB20, 3EB, etc. In the back I found a pristine copy of Yo La Tengo's President LP, and another of their New Wave Hot Dogs album. In their separate, original issue form. Naturally I grabbed them and never looked back.

Cinnamon tictac's from my sisters house.

...I guess that doesn't really count.

I stole some small craft items from a discount store because they fit easily in my pocket. Aware of the possibility of security cameras, I simply placed the item in my hand with my car keys walked around a bit and then put the keys, and the item in my pocket. I repeated this several times over a period of two months. Then I got bored cause it was too easy.

uh, a couple of months ago i ripped out an article from a newspaper in my doctor's waiting room.

i haven't shoplifted in years. i think i got my winona ryder tendencies out of my system when i turned 18. besides, i just know that if i ever got caught, it would be for stealing something embarrassing and lame like a box of tampons.

In my third year at uni I used to live off steak slices and sandwhiches stolen from my local garage.

last thing i actually stole was folders from work. i am a poor student, you know.

This thread is the virtual equivalent of those "come and claim your free boat!" initiatives that police forces use to round up petty criminals.
