copywrite is Alt+0169, it's in the normal Word character set, on insert symbol. there is an r in a circle as well (Alt+0174), but no p that i can see from here, soz like...

you can get these from system fonts sets by going to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map (if you're on a PC)

there's a p in a circle on webdings, don't know how to get it though.

On a mac, use option-g for the copyright symbol.
For the phonograph symbol you need to get a font which has it, and I don't know that any standard fonts do.

Webdings. Brilliant. Thanks.

How the fuck does the alt thing work? In Word? Tell me, key by key, how you press them. Please?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:39 (twenty-one years ago)

In Word I just use the Insert/Symbol option from the menu, or for the copyright symbol just type (c) and it completes it for you. I can't get the Alt thing to work either.

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:46 (twenty-one years ago)

You have to use the number pad, rather than the top row numbers, I think.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

(ie. you hold down ALT, type the relevant number on the number keypad, then let go of ALT. Think that's right but I'm not on a PC at the moment)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

That did work! Thanks Nick.

(I knew about (c) working too, but I'm all for learning about old skool codes)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

the circle-performance thing isn't in normal fonts - it is in extended/unicode fonts, such as Lucida Grande on OSX macs. webdings is microsoft's font to render the extended characters that can/should be shown on web-pages but that are not found in ordinary fonts.

just saying like

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 21 October 2004 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

ten months pass...
What do you call that thing that's like a full stop/period, but bigger and sits halfway up?

How do I get it?

Help, please!
